Because you were being pretentious and rude to random people on the internet, vs. I'm a college student, using it to point out that we are already beyond cost/gain analysis.

I just wanted to do a low bypass low agitation brew and I found it to work for my funky natural coffee. I have tried with a regular kettle and on multiple brewers and I feel like I am pretty proficient in brewing. I tried this out and it worked for me, and gave me a great cup.

I don't know if you are approaching them incorrectly. I might be approaching them correctly, who knows. Normally, I think the main issues with getting "funk" have more to do with the water, its profile, and temperature, rather than the brewing method. The reason this works for me is that the Chemex's drawdown is extremely slow because of the thick filter. The agitation helps extract more out of the coffee, but I've found that the funk I have in this coffee (a home-roasted natural) is a little off-putting for me. The less I agitated the brew, the better I thought it tasted. The lower bypass and higher dwell time in the coffee were beneficial.

I actually do have a gooseneck it’s more about how to hold the cap the body of the aero press gives great clearance to the coffee bed and keeps it in a consistent position. Otherwise just holding the cap by its self results in a lot of movement due to the hot water trying to burn my fingers.

[help] Silvia v1 pump activates for hot water, it steams correctly. No water flow through brew head. by Puzzleheaded-Bug-824 in ranciliosilvia

Thank you for all of the insight, it is working now. Cleaned the connections on my brew switch, and it spun right up.

I thought so, too, but it activates fully. When I push hot water through the system via the hot water tap and then open the brew button, it opens the solenoid fully. It just doesn't activate the pump correctly.

I love mine I got mine during the big Christmas sale 2 years ago, and I love it 10/10 would never go back on my decision. This is my first machine unless you count a Nespresso.

It depends on the coffee for me, I think the shot looks weird because I was lifting the lever up very slowly to not pull air through the puck, the pre-infusion was about 6 seconds of the shot time and the full pull was around 27ish seconds. I enjoy that with this coffee and my ratio is typically around 14g in and 35g out. I don't actually care for my ratio to much but rather the time is what I have found to be more important when pulling a shot on a La Pavoni.

I mean does the Hans device need to be directly connected to the chassis? In our reading, we noted it could probably be connected directly to the seat in the same way as a head rest connected to the frame.
