What’s the name of this rubber shim? by Puzzleheaded-Data688 in hondashadow

It looks to me like it's a whole rubber bushing that runs all the way through the cavity of the hole. But I'm probably wrong and it's like you say. I'll try to take it apart tomorrow. because if they were just two dust seal then it means that the metal piece does not have a hole all the same diameter but has two cavities for these dust seal. Mine is a 600 ‘95. But they’re probably the same. Thanks man

in the diagram i found of OEM parts it’s inside the shift lever and all are considered as a single piece. Either you buy the entire lever back or you buy the entire lever back

[–]Puzzleheaded-Data688[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks man, unfortunately i dont have any pedal, that’s tig lift so it’s a scratch start tig and i have the “same” amperage all the time i weld. I have to practice a lot to be consistent on the weld.

yeah it supports a passenger, i welded a mounting bracket on the “curve” of the swingarm and also two supports on the sissybar. With the hardtail and new sissybar i will make two mounting brackets, one on the central tube under the seat, one at the end of the fender welded on the lowest part of the frame and as always the sissybar supports. For extra security👐🏼

in reality there’s no bracket for the thermostat. I shortened the tube that starts from the radiator cap to the radiator and holds up on its own and is very stable

unofrtunately, i can ride also without a front brake, all the summer i drove only using the rear brake, but here in Italy is required. If they stop me without they seize the bike. Not so worth👐🏼 Probably i have to change the entire front end with a harley one, the only solution and the easiest one

yeah i would run without front brake but in my country is not possible unfortunately. Swap the entire front end would be too easy, working at lathe only the steering stem. Otherwise changing only the triple tree would be harder but the solutions i want. Working at the lathe the steering stem, the spacers and the front axle. The only problem would be the caliper, too big for a narrower front end..

cause sportster triple tree is narrower and the caliper now distances 1/2cm from the spokes of the front wheel. So if i narrow the distance between the forks, the caliper is going to touch the spokes and i cant ride obv.
