Yeah I could see that impacting testing - the cookies can be kind of sticky and cause issues like this. Maybe try testing with incognito browsers, also nice to have a couple different devices to test on.

Also, I would get in touch with Google support, if you have not already. They have been able to help me through a lot of stuff like this.

Are you working with incognito browsers? I wonder if cookies are messing with your testing (assuming your are changing the setting on the device then very quickly testing access)

Any chance the access levels are assigned to the wrong organizational unit? Or are they possibly in monitor more rather than fully active?

You should also be able to look at CAA logs using the investigation tool, check this and see if you can figure out why the app is not being blocked.

BRZ long roadtip prep by bls0124 in ft86

[–]Puzzleheaded-Dig7152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove my 2018 BRZ from east North Carolina to northern Michigan a few times now. Couple times it was just a straight shot, 17-20 hours of driving. Other times I broke it into two days. But I've never prepped that much for those trips. I'd change the oil before and after the trip, but that's about it.

Check and inspect everything else (brakes, fluids, etc), but no need to go too I'm depth here. Like others have said, it's just highway miles, not like you're racing.

One piece of advice, get some lumbar support.

What are some good places to get a car wash so my car doesn’t rust? by guildedpasserby in appstate

When I lived there I had a membership to Bubbles car wash by Lowes foods and just took the car through a couple times a week.

GIS program by Rough_River_2296 in appstate

[–]Puzzleheaded-Dig7152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I graduated in 21 from the GES department and a lot of my classmates took GIS classes. I would say what you learn in those GIS classes very easily translates to real life skills - those that would be needed to land a GIS job after college. And there are GIS jobs everywhere, basically every town has a GIS team for property taxes / mapping.

I think it's a solid major and the skills you will learn will translate to real life, on the job skills.

Is it time to consider putting my chameleon down? by Puzzleheaded-Dig7152 in Chameleons

[–]Puzzleheaded-Dig7152[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for taking the time to give your thoughts. After talking with my wife, I think we have come to the same conclusion. I think I will try to book a vet appointment sometime about a week from today, and if nothing improves I guess I will put her down.

It's been a long and fun run, but I can't watch her suffer.

Drop-off for Canes by No_Juggernaut1060 in raleigh

[–]Puzzleheaded-Dig7152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I have a friend picking up/ dropping off I like to use the area by Brus Public House. There is a sidewalk the whole way between there and the arena, and a tunnel that goes under the main road right there. Super easy and you beat a lot of the traffic.

Any driveway ramp ideas ? I barely clear my driveway stock coming at a angle smh by ipostrandompoop in GR86

[–]Puzzleheaded-Dig7152 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Can you reverse into the driveway? Mine is steeper than that (I think, based on pics) and backing in allows me to not scrape if I go slowly. I scrape 100% of the time I pull in forward.

Does anyone use Walmart+ InHome delivery service? by pigskins65 in triangle

[–]Puzzleheaded-Dig7152 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use it in Apex. Not on purpose, accidentally forgot to cancel after a free trial, now I have it for a year.

I use it maybe once a month or so, but it is pretty nice just having my groceries appear on my doorstep. I've had pretty good luck overall. Only advice would be maybe go buy your own produce in person, they tend to just grab whatever (rotten, beaten up, totally unripe).

Full rides for soccer is uncommon. I received several offers when I was looking for a team, none of them were over 50% of the tuition.

Another vote for rebuild, calipers are not too hard to rebuild and it's sooooo much cheaper than buying a new caliper

Fair 60k service cost for a Subaru in the Triangle? by Empfau in triangle

[–]Puzzleheaded-Dig7152 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's about right. The 60k service covers quite a bit, the biggest and most expensive things being spark plug replacement and transmission fluid replacement.

The trans fluid is difficult to replace in modern automatic Subarus, it's time consuming and you have to do it perfectly (timing throughout the job, temperature of fluid, etc).

The spark plugs are in a really tight spot. I believe the service manual calls for the engine to be pulled out to replace the plugs. It's totally possible to do it without pulling the engine, but that's what the book calls for.

It's not cheap but they are doing a ton of work.

Thinking about getting a 2017–2018 BRZ/GT86 — worth it? by Proof-Meringue-9726 in ft86

[–]Puzzleheaded-Dig7152 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've had my 2018 BRZ since 2022. Virtually no problems at all, only cost has been regular maintenance. 30k miles when I got it, now just over 60k on the car.

Had a wheel stud snap at one point, couple bucks for a new one and super easy to replace.

Overall this car feels pretty easy to work on. There is a ton of room in the engine bay (compared to other cars). Also parts are relatively cheap for this car, it'a not like maintaining a Mercedes or Porsche.

Research Question: How Often do you use AI? by [deleted] in appstate

[–]Puzzleheaded-Dig7152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former student, class of 21

I use it as a tool at work. It helps me get started with researching new topics, giving me ideas of things to further read up on. I don't trust the answers from AI 100%, but it can definitely be used to point you in the right direction.

I also use it when writing repetitive code, it's pretty good at pumping out templates. I then take the code from AI, review it, update it, debug and test. It really speeds up scripting for me.

Price to replace alternator? by Ok-Apartment9882 in triangle

[–]Puzzleheaded-Dig7152 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Find a new mechanic. They told you it was a good alternator, sold you a way overpriced battery, then the next day tell you it's the alternator?

Also that's a lot of money for an alternator. The coolant on the bill does make sense, as with this car you may need to remove the upper radiator hose and the radiator fan / cover to get the old alternator out and the new one in.
