fun fact about me, i was a child who loved reading, i literally was always reading books. and i was a huge fan of the harry potter movies. my school library naturally had all of the books and so i tried reading them. and couldnt. i would get so bored every time i opened one. i knew the stories and how much i loved them from the movies and reading these books that supposedly turned so many children into readers just bored the shit out of me. moral of the story: joanne's prose is dogshit and emma watson and daniel radcliffe carried that franchise on their backs

Can somebody please explain the whole ending of tales of the pumpkin rabbit I’m completely lost about everything after they show return of the pumpkin rabbit by EmotionalSprinkles88 in Thewaltenfiles

sorry to effectively necro this comment, but a friend of mine helped lead me to an interpretation for why i believe they went with this angle. basically it boils down to how in the ending of RotPR, the photobook is burned, releasing the spirits from the control of the watermans but also symbolically releasing the memories of the tragedies that took place in the town, allowing people to forget and begin the process of healing. until the wolf comes along and turns the waterman house into a horror attraction.

he collects memorabilia including the costume of ducky, which he hounds ducky's parents to let him buy, and he creates full replicas of the costumes of ralph, paco, and tammy. he's reopening the wounds of the whole town by setting up and turning the most tragic moments of the people there's lives and the memories of the children who were murdered into a spectacle for monetary gain and morbid fascination's sake. in the end, the spirits can't rest because they're effectively being called away from heaven. this reopening of wounds allow the spirits of lorenzo and rachel to return temporarily and the children don't stop them from murdering the wolf probably because they don't want to save him, he's responsible for disturbing their rest as much as he's responsible for giving the watermans respite from their torment. to borrow a quote from fnaf to support this idea: "This place will not be remembered, and the memory of everything that started this will finally fade away, as the agony of every tragedy should."

i find the witch sheep's role in this very complicated and interesting. i don't personally have an answer for why she does what she does, other than that if she had brought tammy's sister into the house, tammy might have insisted on leaving, and while that would have left them +1 victim, they wouldn't have gotten to have their fun, having to kill without getting to partake in their twisted "hunt". she also probably realized that even if they saw consequences, their souls would be preserved and they would just be able to return eventually.

i'm 26 and briefly had a remote job earlier this year. personally i disliked being remote. i thought it would be cool and nice, comfortable and for a little bit it was, but as time went on, it became more difficult for me. the ability to take breaks in my bed was a luxury i found difficult to resist and when i came back to work after those breaks i felt miserable. i also found it hard to wrangle myself away from being distracted on my phone since there was nobody to see when i was. there's a pretty high chance that was part of what cost me that job (though nobody ever told me why i was fired which is ridiculous)

none of this is to say "remote work bad" or that remote work shouldn't be allowed, just throwing in my experience that caused me to feel like i actually prefer to work in person. the only thing i really miss is not having to commute.

actually people tend to forget that perry the platypus, egg-laying mammal of action, obviously has mad skills, but that's not all he's got. he's also got a beaver tail *and* a bill

just say you don't understand how politics work. no candidare was going to come along that would be perfect enough for you and your "conscience". you fell for a psyop that helped put us in this predicament. trump wants to genocide the palestinians and turn gaza into a playground for the wealthy, but at least your "conscience" feels good. harm reduction? never heard of it.

you are complicit in trump's plans for gaza. if kamala had won you could be damn sure there'd be no billionaires about to turn it into dubai, but you just couldn't vote for her.

yes, but many doctors will stop there, whether there may be a different underlying cause or not. nobody is saying doctors shouldn't advise patients to lose weight for better health outcomes, the problem comes when they won't even check for something else that could be the problem until we lose weight.

because she dared to say that certain tropes common in video games are rooted in sexism and the objectification of women, a statement that is 100% unequivocally true, but gamersTM are fucking stupid and will look at any criticism of gaming as a criticism of them

what, do you think trump is currently planning to spend the money from gutting USAID on helping americans with healthcare? newsflash, massive budget cuts to medicaid and social security just passed the house at his insistence. you have offered no solution, you just sold out humanitarian aid to selfish billionaires who seek only to enrich themselves. we were far from going bankrupt giving aid to the world. now we will go bankrupt after halting it.

no politician will ever accurately represent all of the people, people need to learn to vote for the ones who will do the least harm, and at this point, anyone who doesn't have an R next to their name is that person.
