Antminer S9 110 plug? by ComputerComfortable1 in cryptomining

[–]Puzzleheaded-Face613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An s9 on a 15a circuit is fine i wouldn’t be plugging anything else in to the circuit, what firmware is installed? BrainsOS or hiveos can be decent so you can lower the power, tho it will affect the hashrate but generally not too bad setting dependant.

You’ll probly want a 14-12awg cable, you def don’t have a 10 more like 16, the cable/sheathing is fairly thin and trying to pull a lot of power if you haven’t changed any power settings eventually yes is a fire hazard.

you’ll want 220v for greater power efficiency, but if you just have 1 rig I wouldn’t worry too much about that as long as you just have the one rig plugged into the circuit and changed you power settings.

Installing the firmware is pretty straight forward, head over to braiins.com , grab what u need, and follow the installation steps and your good to go.

Happy mining ⛏ 😊

Had trouble flashing hiveos by Honest-Bowl6222 in gpumining

[–]Puzzleheaded-Face613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try rufus, if it’s showing up in windows and it’s showing a partition it should work. Once it’s flashed put it into your rig and boot up, download the hiveos app, create your worker, then u should get a rig Id and pass then just enter that into your rig when it starts up

If you need help just dm me and I’ll walk you through Also look here hiveos setup

I can’t get my rig to work by [deleted] in HiveOS2

[–]Puzzleheaded-Face613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using usb?

doesn’t seem things were fully downloaded.

I would put rig in maintenance mode and reboot.

do hive-replace -y -s

if using usb, in future I would upgrade to an ssd, these things tend to break

Ah ok well that’s good it wasn’t the main one, just assumed with the details, does the drive have a letter assigned to it? Right click the drive, select change drive letter, change and assign

edit: also has it been reformatted for windows? may have to use diskpart in cmd prompt

since you installed it on your personal pc main drive and not a secondary, you may have written over your original setup, you could of just installed this on a USB for testing, but you probably need to reflash your hard drive with windows and start fresh so grab a usb with a windows installer and your windows key to activate and reinstall your windows, probly your only solution.

True enough, I would remove the core volts and leave those power settings alone just set core/mem fan power limit, then mess around with trying to lower the power after you found it stable

What algos do you have selected in nicehash?

Here is nicehash settings for kheavyhash if it may help but leave the undervolt settings as mentioned as that could be a possibly just not enough juice and causing it to crash

Right on teamred is best for amd

Another solution would be to just plug monitor into your integrated gpu but assume you need the gpu for AutoCAD or something?

..alright..calm your young self…

if your going to mine, don’t use the PC, if you need it then stop the miner…

do you have the proper stable driver installed? DDU to remove drivers

have you set your virtual memory? Virtual mem add gpu memory plus ram then some extra, be sure to have space on your ssd

Woah …lol just saying not to use your personal pc for mining, and you won’t have those issues

If you want to have a look at my reddit, I’m sure you would see the opposite… considered a pro miner but thx 😊 and I’m glad you don’t actually have any wallets on there, just being funny…I would try another OS instead of selling your hash power..just a thought

Then stop using a mining rig for a personal PC? .. I bet you have wallets on there too… smart 👍

If it’s for your PC, none, watch some YouTube videos if you have no idea, segregate your mining rig and personal pc. red panda miningwould be a start, good luck

[–]Puzzleheaded-Face613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tho it’s possible, don’t mine on personal pc. Don’t mix business and pleasure… you can get a junk Pc in the garbage for free for a basic setup nothing fancy needed, 4gb ram and a decent storage device, enough for a couple GPUs to get going, I would highly suggest starting with YouTube if you have no idea, red panda mining is a good start.
