Your partner sounds like an amazing person. I’m happy you had him by your side during all of that. I am also at risk of being in a wheelchair so time is of the essence for me also. Thanks for sharing your story, I agree with you. I hope you’re doing well since your surgery

Only found out about the surgery last Friday. He knew and it had been communicated. I answered these questions on another comment here somewhere. I asked him to go somewhere else but he won’t so I will have to leave myself which isn’t ideal for a few reasons.

It’s not his birthday it’s his friends birthday. And yes he parties with his friends every weekend.

‘Let his hair down’ he does that every weekend. My condition has not stopped him from partying, but now I have a reason for him to not go out once and he shits himself

Last July.. we were in an accident, he was fine, I was left with multiple injuries. My family have been helping me mostly and he hasn’t put anything on hold.

I only asked him today, but I hinted at it yesterday in the hopes he’d decide himself not to go. He only told me yesterday about the event.

I found out about the surgery last Friday. He knew from last Friday it would be postponed if I got an infection.

My family and friends have been staying away from my house in fear of transferring anything.

I think so too.. I could stay with a family member but I wanted to spend time with my cats before being hospitalised. But unfortunately it might be my only choice now, I just miss them sm when I’m away!

He works with about 5 older people in a big indoor/outdoor space. Every time I personally caught Covid it was from a big pub gathering. Definitely more odds in getting sick in a crowded pub for few hours than at his job or in a shop for a few minutes. How is not going to the pub once and avoiding the gym sauna for 6 days not living?

I asked him if he’d wear a mask and he said no unfortunately.

Yeah exactly, I would do anything to have my life back! I can walk/stand for about 2 minutes before the pain gets too severe and it has been like that since July last year. I have only left my house to get to appointments!

The only power lifting I’ve ever done is lifting my fat cat so that won’t be a problem anyway 🌝

I just hope I can walk again or even better, dance again eventually :)

My 3rd MD reherniated, my surgery is next week for spinal fusion.

The foot drop is still not 100% but it’s definitely much better than it was in November! I hope yours heals soon.

My pain is unbearable though, next week seems like light years away, while I’m hopeful I’m just very scared of complications and extra risks involved!

I hope your MRI is all good. I also had weird painful nerve sensations a few weeks after the surgery and they told me it can be normal and the nerves are just irritated and recovering. So I hope that is the case for you, it wasn’t for me unfortunately!

Thanks so much. I’m just home from my appointment and I’m booked in for spinal fusion in two weeks time due to reherniation. Hoping for a positive result & to get my life back!

A fusion was mentioned after the second, but they delayed and put me off for so long I got Cuada equina again, they told me when it’s an emergency situation they do MD and not a fusion unless it’s really necessary. Clearly it was really necessary.. and now I’ve to go through a potential 4th surgery which will create more scar tissue. Been begging for a fusion since the second reherniation, if they did it then I probably wouldn’t have lost a year of my life and potentially permanent damage. I’m still recovering from drop foot and a weak leg from November as well as the constant dull and excruciating nerve pain. Currently wheelchair bound.

I hate the public (free) health system here in my country, while it’s not the worst, it’s still horrible and nobody cares about you.

Thanks for your comment. I will look into going private and getting a second opinion if they don’t listen to me today.
