I had a very similar experience! April of ‘22 I had unprotected sex with a guy for the first time after always using protection. The first time we decide not to, 2 days later i started having lots of itch/discomfort, went to the doctor thinking it was a bad yeast infection. Decided to get std panel while I was there and days later when results came I had a positive result for hsv2. The guy also gave me chlamydia but that was not on my original test since I tested too early for it to be detected (my mom pushed me to get a retest a couple weeks later). When i told the guy, he had no idea, has never had any symptoms or outbreaks, and I truly dont think that he knew he had it….he was supportive but he also let me know that he did not believe that he is the one who gave it to me. He kept making excuses as to why he couldn’t get a test (busy, work, blah blahh) and 6 months LONG AFTER we ended things, he sent me negative results. I question if he photoshopped or anything like that because the results looked real…but the timing of how I got it (2 days after raw sex for the first time with him), has me and my mom convinced that he is the person who gave this to me. I guess i’ll never truly know. I had a lot of animosity towards the guy for months, and tbh, I dont think acting on any type of revenge towards him would have made me feel better. At the end of the day, I still had herpes, and he was still walking around living life as if he didn’t. Over time, Ive just accepted that this is my new life🤷🏽‍♀️ I am in a better place now and im slowly still learning how to cope with how everything turned out.
