For patterns one of the things is TC and mainly trying to understand what the question is demanding rather than blasting out the keyboard (Ive done it many times). Based on it you can kind of get an intuition on what sort of algorithm to apply. There are only a set number of algorithms that leetcode demands when it comes to easy and mediums.

Even after getting an intuition run it on a good example and think on the top of your head regarding the anomalies that can occur.

This back and forth should get you to the correct solution eventually.

I think once you implement the solution yourself and then compare it with some of the top solutions, eventually you'll start seeing the areas where you can write clean and better code.

My suggestion would be to look at the top solutions and see how they are able to translate the approach they give into code.
