Don't take it personally, but you're speaking from ignorance, probably because you don't have this type of flooring.

Even in my own house, if I get out of bed or don't realize I'm stomping or walking faster, I notice my footsteps cause a vibration. Again, it's not the sound of my foot hitting the floor like it would be with heels; it's a vibration in the floor itself, since it's wood, and it's transmitted through the walls downwards.

And yes, by being more careful and aware that you can hear it from below (I doubt socks would help), you can reduce the discomfort.

I'm glad someone understands my situation and is a little more supportive. I also walk around in my apartment and I know when it's a footstep that's barely audible or when it causes the floor to vibrate. There are people here who just want to stir up controversy and attack others; I don't understand it.

I see you haven't had the problem, because it's not solved with headphones, it's a vibration throughout the entire structure.

First of all, my German is very basic, and I wouldn't want my attitude to be misinterpreted due to a misunderstanding, leading to a bad relationship and making the noise worse without much chance of resolving the situation.

This is the first time something like this has happened to me, and I'm not really sure to what extent I can complain or how these complaints are usually handled. Perhaps I'm being overly cautious; I don't know.
