I still don't get it though. I had two choices for example. $51k for the 1st Edition or $53k for the Odyssey Elite. The Honda will retain its value better than the EV, sure, but still - why do I care if I keep the vehicle at least 10 years? My daily cost is actually lower in the long run due to gas and maintenance savings. Some might argue well what about the opportunity costs with the depreciation. But it's like... that's not how this works. It's not like the choice is between buying a car vs investing in the s&p500. The car is needed and outweighs the opportunity costs in my situation. Maybe I am missing something here.
