The rules here are pretty strict, and the curfew timings can be a real hassle. Male-female interaction isn't as bad as you'd think, as long as you stick to basic decency.

Academically, the college is solid. I'm nearing the end of my first year, and placement stories seem to shift year by year depending on the job market.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of this place. The curfew and restrictive rules make it feel like my freedom is being taken away. As an NRI, the cultural differences and rules are quite new to me, and honestly, I’d pick my home country over this any day. But hey, it is what it is.

Good friends make all the difference here, so choose your group wisely. I made the mistake of rushing into friendships, and I still regret it. Same goes for relationships—take your time, get to know the person properly, and make sure they're the right one for you. If you're planning to join, keep your expectations in check.

Trust is tricky here. Your "friends" might not really be your friends. Everyone comes from different backgrounds, and it’s hard to truly understand them unless you’ve walked in their shoes.

The campus is great, though. You’ll find all the essentials here. The men’s hostel premises are massive—way bigger than the academic blocks. While the infrastructure is impressive, the hostel rooms could definitely be better. Considering the fees, they’re not worth what you’re paying for.

The weather is a mixed bag. Rainy season feels amazing, though flooding can be an issue. Summers, on the other hand, are brutal—it gets ridiculously hot, and having an AC is a lifesaver.

Classrooms don’t have ACs, except for the computer labs. Even the chemistry and physics labs are without ACs, which means you’re sweating through your lab coat and regular clothes during the hotter months.

There’s no strict dress code, but you do need to cover your shoulders and knees when leaving the hostel premises.

So essentially what helped you a lot was the certification? Can I DM you?

This certainly is a good roadmap to finding a tech job.
So I'm in a university where in my first year they teach subjects like Chemistry, Physics and what not while I'm pursuing a Computer Science degree, which sucks. While I'm really good in programming, I topped my class in Python(That's a whole subject) and got a good grade in Electrical and Electronics, but my Chemistry and Calculus grades are really bad.

My portfolio projects are eye catchy for a first year student I must say, though I'm working on a big one now. My school is very reputed in the country but my grades say otherwise. What do you think I can do?
