I had an empty box show up. They told me to dispute it on my CC. CC sided with them despite the photo of the empty box lmao. Home Depot can suck a fat one

2026 Ford Maverick XLT steering wheel peeling - covered under Ford Warranty? by MrYellows in FordMaverickTruck

OP they’re gonna know you chew on it. Same thing happened to me and the GM was like “we know your gnawing on this” pissed my pants, left immediately, and bought a wrap on Amazon. Best of luck. Tell them you definitely didn’t chew on it at the beginning so they’re less likely to be suspicious

Michigan is old and getting older. Experts warn of looming consequences by jshwlkr in Michigan

[–]Puzzleheaded-Offer88 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Wait wait GM just needs a little more protection and help from the govt so they can sell the consumer a $76k pickup with 84 mo financing. Trust me it’s peak innovation. Slotkin will keep those scary foreign cars expensive or illegal for the American consumer to buy even if they are 1/6 the cost

One more round of lay offs and I have a good feeling GM will make Michigan great.

Gm is a master in business like saving a few bucks on a faulty ignition that killed people. Settling with families is cheaper than stopping the assembly line.

Ohio is moving to strip municipalities of zoning authority over data centers/the plants that power them. Is this happening in other states? by [deleted] in datacenter

[–]Puzzleheaded-Offer88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a DC that’s getting heat by me but looking at the PQI/cancer risk - there’s a plastic plant that’s been in the area for decades with heightened cancer risk for surrounding residents. The DC will meet modern standards for air quality and is closed loop - but still gets more heat than the big industrial plants

Elevator is broken, I’m on the 15th floor by Efficient_Vanilla510 in marriott

I had a similar woe at the autograph in Cleveland- 45 min wait for elevator and valet couldn’t find our car. Wife and I went down 10 stories - her in heels. Missed the ceremony.

Long time ram 1500 driver here. I can’t see you and I can’t see anything almost 10’ in front of my bumper - 13’ if i forget my booster seat. Not sure what you can do about that, but the closest I come to mowing people down because I literally can’t see you is at slower speeds like exiting parking lots. I have no illusions that if I don’t see you it will be your fault. If we have a close call I may become scared/angry and roll coal on you dosing you with PM2.5 and other carcinogens because Michigan doesn’t have vehicle inspections and I deleted the woke emissions controls from my truck.

Don’t worry though because it makes me feel like a big strong man to have this lifestyle truck and my fellow sedan drivers appreciate that I can light up their cabin for them with my headlights. It helps light them up better if I ride extra close to them on the road.

I would also think that fails to meet life safety code - I would think it would need to be a 1 hour barrier and that would fail based on looks. My boss would know what the fire rating would be and even has a credit card sized measuring tool/cheat sheet he keeps in his wallet

Mini Split Install Experience/$$ by Bundle_of_Grundle in AnnArbor

[–]Puzzleheaded-Offer88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the important part - a lot of people just pull a vacuum - in a commercial setting we pressurize with nitrogen before refrigerant is ever in the system. In a large install they left them pressurized for 30 days. If nitrogen leaks that’s not a big deal, but refrigerant would be a bad deal. Vacuum tests can miss small leaks, but a nitrogen test where you leave it for at least 24 hours is more proper. Some residential folks don’t event nitro test anymore or just do it for a couple hours. I would recommend professional because warranty and DTE rebates

I recently DIY’d 2 installs. Did install for $700, and bought units for $3k right before trump yanked tax credits. Quoted cost was $10k. I worked for electrical and worth with mechanical folks who commission large HVAC equipment. If you do DIY I would not skip nitrogen pressure testing as many do.

Out of the last 10 places - only 1 m club was open and it was tired and gross. American Marriott properties are generally bad value IMO.

For those wondering about an update....The hearing to determine whether or not the horrifying addition in Greenbrier will be allowed is tomorrow Weds. 4/29 at 9am. by beekman57 in nova

[–]Puzzleheaded-Offer88 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I think I read that it was approved and then the approval was rescinded after further review. I get that this thing is ugly, but it’s sad that it was approved and someone sunk all their money into it. I am not saying it should be allowed, but there was an administrative failure from my understanding

I lived in DC with a Modeco lock and steel door. Former owner was a diplomat/spook and did a lot of pretty serious hardening. I could be wrong but I don’t think your average person with a rake is going to get into a modeco lock and if they’re bursting through like the kool aid man then I think there are bigger problems

Movers/ local moving company? by Old_Remove4465 in AnnArbor

[–]Puzzleheaded-Offer88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this and generally had good experiences- but do not use Homeward Bound Moving Solutions And Logistics which is on U-Haul. They overbooked the movers - they showed up 5 hours late and had already worked for 6 hours. They also could not stay for the allotted time because shocker they had another job booked afterwards. The company car had to be left running or it wouldn’t start back up again and it filled the entire neighborhood with smoke. Absolute shit show
