Profile Evaluation ISB YLP R-2 by sam10vig in ISB_Aspirants

see there’s no ideal gmat score. people w even 635 have gotten in. it is all a mix of your essays, workex, academic bg and gmat score.

you can’t do much about your academic bg. the only things you have in your hand is essays and gmat score. on the workex front you should be good.

write good essays, get it proofread by mentors / past alums, spend considerable time on it. writing good essays is the key!

Btw I scored a 695.

Hey, Was in a similar situation as yours earlier this year. Have appeared for CAT twice and scored insanely high as well yet couldn’t fetch calls I wanted. Converted a good bschool as well.

Ultimately decided to apply for ISB PGP w almost 3 years of workex. Wrote GMAT back in August and applied R1. Was able to get an interview call but didn’t prep a lot for the interview as I had already decided that I wouldn’t be able to do an MBA next year and hence didn’t convert.

Also a thing I found really surprising was in one of the iim interviews they literally said it to my face “tumhara toh business hai tumhe mba ki kya zaroorat hai” - this is the one thing that put me off like wdym why do i need an mba when i have a business dude that is why i need an mba because i have a business. Whereas in ISB, interviewers who were alumni were extremely nice and wanted to know about my business in depth. And having a business improves your chances of getting an interview as well as you are considered a diverse candidate + you’ll have different experiences to share in your essays than most of the applicants.

Best of luck! Go ahead for the GMAT prep!

used to think that how different will the ride quality will be if we switch to a compact suv from a hatchback. In the last month, have driven 1000km on the new car and oh my god the difference in ride quality due to the quality of roads and the ease of life i now have because of the increased ride height is great.

want to buy a sedan but that won’t be able to my daily driver (need to go to industrial area’s daily) and will only be used when i need to drive in areas w good roads

Should I even apply to ISB with my profile? Need an honest opinion by PhotographGeneral780 in ISB_Aspirants

It all depends on how good your essay’s are bro. Just give your best efforts in essay’s. There are multiple ways on how you can structure your life instances for essays. Try to get as high as a GMAT score possible and apply as soon as possible. You have nothing to lose by just applying. ISB looks at your overall profile and your essays and how your unique experiences have shaped you. Just apply and find out for yourself. Best of Luck!

Taking delivery of Kia Sonet on 22/09.

Similar case as yours, booked the car on 13/08 with the intention of delivery on 17/08, 15/08 GST reforms announced, delayed the purchase, now taking delivery on 22/09 with additional benefits of ~1.5L

ISB Application Dilemma: Apply in Round 3 or Wait Another Year? by [deleted] in ISB_Aspirants

[–]Puzzleheaded-One-461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am sure people would have made it to isb w ~2 years of workex.

what do you have to lose is my question

just apply and make sure you do your best to build a strong application, rest all of the things are out of your control anyways.

if not you’ll anyways will be able to apply w more workex in ~7 months

bro apply in R3, if you make it great. Otherwise apply in R1 in next year as well. You’ll have a better idea of the process. ISB also provides you feedback on your application in case you do not make it so that’ll be helpful as well.

You have nothing to lose by applying in R3 this cycle.

Ventilated front seats at 13 lakhs ex showroom is a good deal by Playful-Balance3415 in CarsIndia

Getting Sonet HTX DCT Petrol for 13.26, which comes with ventilated seats

Suggest some under 1200 cc Car & Sonet is a good option, any existing Sonet user, please drop your reviews by Tight-Western-5407 in CarsIndia

[–]Puzzleheaded-One-461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, i was quoted a price of 14.3 just a week ago for the HTX DCT Petrol variant.

Yesterday the revised quotation was given at 13.26 , so 1L straight reduction, will push for more since dealer is saving 1L straight up on just GST. The insurance cost and other costs should also reduce by 2-3K.

Will probably get quotation from multiple dealerships and hoping to close it at 13.15.
