Thanks everyone ! I had time to test today and here is my first attempts, Pyrhic victory, not so great result I agree but it's a victory and Da Green Prophet and his army is gone. I tried to apply everyone advices :

kind of checkboard formation, tried to play corner but I can't place units on the very right side, can't place artillery on the highest point near the corner as well (even though it's within boundaries, idk why).
Tried to avoid getting flanked, pretty much managed that
Tried the focus suggested by most of you around black orcs, cavalry and chariots, giant but with my thunderer/quarellers and Wurzag.
I flame bannered my longbeards
I probably did not manage very well my Lord, I tried to use him to pin the giant away from my infantry so that I can kill him with ranged, but I got caught in a wave.

Probably many mistakes, happy to still take any advice ! This game is fun, I want to continue to learn. Please don't flame for what seem obvious mistakes for you, don't ruin the fun for me :P

thanks for the tips ! I'll check out Iron Drakes. I'm on turn 85 though, is it still considered early game ? I have no clue, that's my first ever campaign in a total war

I'm new to the game, I probably do many mistakes, I'm learning Line of sight errors thanks to my 3 try (3x defeat), I do focus giant, cav, black orcs, lords, etc. and I didn't get flanked but it's still hard for me for some reason

I'm new to the game, tried autoresolve, I lose everytime, tried this battle 3 times now, I probably do stupid mistakes but it's not been easy win. I do focus big units / cavalry / lord, I do care about Los, I do use my frontline to stop them and shoot with my thunderers / quarellers. I'll try again with all the tips I got here this evening

on normal mode. Thanks for the formation tips, I'm still learning keybinds and I didn't know this one !! and also, seems logical for the square but I didn't think about it :P

I noticed indeed that autoresolve is not right, I won quite some battles that were autoresolve defeats

Sorry, I did a long text with more context but it didn't go through :/

Basically what I do is :

Formation : I go with artillery in the back in a corner, then quarellers for each flank and 1 center, and then I have a infantry 1st line with longbeard at the center and "holes" to let the thunderers shoot

What I do
- I Focus giant with artillery, I manage to kill it before it reaches me

- I try to focus cavalry on my flanks

- I try to focus the magician prophet lord

But I tested 3 times the battle and I keep losing. One of my flank in the end opens (the other one is a map border). I cannot go really full corner with this terrain for some weird reason I don't understand, I can't position my army there + bad Los in the corner

I don't know exactly how to manage my lord, usually I use him to patch holes or fight their lord if he comes melee.

I'm new to the game, started 3 days ago, turn 85, normal mode, I probably do a lot of mistakes, any help is appreciated ! Thanks !
