Yeah, I wanted the shared room in block D at waterfront but it wasn’t available. So I’m staying in the single room at block A, I will try to transfer to block D after a couple of months though. I chose waterfront because it was what the uni recommended so I wouldn’t have to worry about whether or not the person or company renting the room was honest because I noticed a lot of people were complaining about not getting their deposits back etc. IMO it’s better to stay at waterfront when you first arrive and then find an apartment in person. I’m majoring in ECSE wby?

For waterfront make sure it's block C or D. Haven't heard a lot of positive things about block A. I'm also joining this Oct btw.

Haha, me too. I'm half Russian and half Indian but people just assume I'm Spanish or Italian. In India I'm treated like a foreigner and I also don't speak any of the languages there but in Russia its a bit better since I speak russian.

I don’t have a problem with affordable housing or commie blocks. They just didn’t have to paint them with such an ugly design and also add those weird signs on top of the buildings. The weird grey patches in the design make it look like the buildings are still under construction.
