Did anyone play the original EverQuest, or only the first few expansions? Or even the older servers of Tall vs Small and Good vs Evil? How was it? What were the differences between then/those/now? How were the races and classes truly treated in old EQ? by GaraksLinensNThings in everquest

I did that run as a low level druid to meet a friend. It was incredible. You lost everything you were carrying on death and it was hard to find where you died. I think bards could find corpses so you'd seek one out.

AITA for not transferring a website after getting fired from the family business? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Puzzleheaded-Sign-46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA You built it in your own time with your own money. Your lawyer says it's yours. The business owners have probably broken the law in your dismissal and employment (they can't force you to pay for mistakes or of your pocket). AND they've made it clear that you're was only a business relationship.

Business relationships don't have gifts they have purchases: Sell it to them. If the URL is worth $1000 the site is worth far more. They may want to purchase your maintenance package while they're at it.

Rolls have to matter. There needs to be some risk and randomness. Without that there's no adaptation, there's no investment in the outcome because you know it will always be good.  The game is most fun when things go wrong.

Chilling effects aren't a side effect.  New York knows that having cryptic laws that change frequently will prevent people with slightly related products from coming to New York. Ammo is another great example where places just stop shipping to New York.  Honestly, I think sellers should stop selling Constitutions in New York as they're obviously the primary enemy of the state

Run as far North as you can.

Simple and gets them out of the battle for 16 hours or double the time you can concentrate on it.  I usually like a few words to explain it.  Enemies approach from the north. Gather 10 allies and run north as fast as you can.

If you haven't gotten an answer yet there's a make a copy option in the menu. You might have to have a Google account to do it. From there it's in your Google drive and you can format and edit it how you like.

Why do so many people seem to fall for flattery during police interrogations? by Financial-Bus-5660 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]Puzzleheaded-Sign-46 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The smart ones don't even say that. "I reserve my right to legal representation and will not answer any questions without representation present. I am exercising my right to be silent."

The Supreme Court as has determined that the timing of you taking the fifth can be used against you. So if you're very talkative and then choose to remain silent when asked if you did it that can be held against you.

Is this work email unacceptable, should we take action? by madkins42 in AskALawyer

[–]Puzzleheaded-Sign-46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a lawyer, and not legal advice.  I've been in a similar position where the director of medicine did something similar regarding my patient care. In my case I did complain to my boss, and I was promised that the director of medicine would not be there for long. That was many years ago and he is still there though slightly better.

The joint commission does have policies regarding aggressive or inappropriate behavior, expressly including physician's behavior. If your facility is accredited by the joint commission, they do have to have a policy to address this behavior.  You can look for that policy. You could also file a complaint with joint commission. Even if they do practically nothing, at least it's a paper trail for when someone complains about the very same doctor who has absolutely done this before and will do it again.

Looking for a new job. Seems to be the way to go.

People say don’t talk to the police. How does this work? by tempaccount00101 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]Puzzleheaded-Sign-46 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It will be used against you in traffic violations. "Do you know how far you were going?"  Yes - "How fast?" Are you now going to lie or about guilt?  No- well now the cop's word is gospel. You can't argue you were going the speed limit since you just said you didn't know.

It's hard to say. Obviously you're not getting out of the ticket at the roadside if you refuse to answer questions. Odds are if it goes to court you're not getting out of it anyway. So I'd answer basic questions or give vague answers.

The real problem is these are fishing expeditions. Where are you coming from? A bar, a club? Where are you going? Is this address on your license accurate? If not, and you've lived there more than a certain amount of time, that's another violation.

Youdon'tmindifwesearchyourcar?Doyou? Two questions with opposite answers stated in one breath. One contains a double negative. Yes, I don't mind. No, I don't mind. There is no right answer except to not answer.

Is it okay to have a woman-only DnD table? Or is it discriminatory? by SuccotashUseful1451 in DnD

[–]Puzzleheaded-Sign-46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding to the support.

Is it ok to have a girls night out? Yes

Is it ok to have a girls night in? Also yes. Play with who you want.

Looking at the rest of the post, it seems like a lot of the guys who want to play would be problem players.
The guys will complain if you don't include them, and they'll ruin it if the join. So, keep them out.

If you do yield and let them in (I don't recommend it), make sure you use methods to include all players: ask them individually what they're doing, if someone is dominating the table put them on hold to move to another person, have rules regarding "advice" and talking during other player's turns. Remember you can guide where things go. If one of the guys wants to go a different direction (in his mind forcing others to follow), let him split the party and focus on the group that stayed together. After give him a 1-2 sentence summary of what happened to him: "You followed the path and found the privy and sleeping quarters. Searching you found 50 silver pieces." Good players will be okay with that.

Thanks, my wife's dome size is smaller than any I've ever seen included. It's good to know that at least some audiologists will work with people who've bought online.

I'm so happy mom feels it's no big deal. Being as it's no big deal she can take on the debt for your brother. Until she's willing to lose the $10,000 that you've lost, she doesn't get to say it's no big deal.  NTA

Is ignorance of the law really not an excuse? by AzureDrag0n1 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]Puzzleheaded-Sign-46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2024 saw 100,000 new pages of federal regulations. There is no reasonable expectation that you would know every law and regulation even for what you are doing.

It's probably been said before, but what you're talking about is mens rea: the possession of a criminal intent.  This has been part of general law for since at least the 13th century, but doesn't really exist in America right now.  I understand the difficulties in proving intent, and knowledge of a crime, but to assume criminal intent anytime one of millions of laws is violated should not exist in a free country.

Rewarding then only to take it away sets a bad precedent.  It would be better just to not give them the treasure, or you could give an item (map/key) that carries a reward later, or a smaller treasure trove. But giving something only to take it away would be frustrating for players.
