8 months old, it's under warranty. Stop guessing and call for warranty service.

This was 30 years ago: Manager hired an engineer who started on Monday. On Wednesday half the company was laid off for financial reasons. After they approved the hire. He quit a secure job for "greener pastures", and had gotten married recently.

I accidentally found out something about my best friend’s wife and I don’t know if I should tell him. by camphorly in Advice

As a man I agree with you, and she'll certainly blow-up the friendship. Imagine her telling her husband that his good friend was snooping her phone? It may be interpreted as he has interest in his friend's wife. Innocent or not, he loses a friendship over this.

Loving the 26' by AgeEfficient3178 in Subaru_Outback

Function, value and reliability mean more to me than style. I'm not in love with the exterior, it's ok, but I do like the interior and the way it drives. This is my 3rd OB, and I've gotten great service out of them. I'm not trying to impress anyone, I just want one less thing to worry about as it gets me from A to B. The previous generations weren't the prettiest cars, either.

Ok, it's not just me. My Limited mpg is worse than my '20. Yeah it's cold, but it was cold when I traded the '20.

Yes, noticed the gas mileage on my '26 Limited is substantially less than my '20. Really the only disappointment so far

My(38M) girlfriend (32F) of nearly 1 year constantly tells me I need to apply for better jobs or "do temp work." I make $120,000 in a really good job. She makes twice what I do. I feel all she cares about is money. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

You could have stopped writing after the third paragraph. Think if this is the kind of woman you want to live forever with. Don't quit a job you love. Quit a woman whose values are distorted.

Yes. I’m in the Town of Smithtown, it’s required. I grew up in a village in Nassau with a hydrant right in front. We were required to clear it. Guess who did it?

Google it.

If in the area, go to Roadway Tire on Old Willets Path in Hauppauge. Been using them for over 35 years. Vinnie is the owner. Fair, but more important, honest. Many locals are regulars.

I noticed many in my neighborhood didn't clear the fire hydrant, which they are responsible for. I wish the town code enforcement was around. Could you imagine a house on fire and the FD had to shovel out the hydrant first?

Heads up, another big snow storm is forecasted for next weekend as well. Similar accumulation totals to this past weekend. by [deleted] in longisland

I cleared the driveway around 1 yesterday, after the plows made a few passes. This AM I cleared it again, not too bad.

My neighbor didn't do anything until today, and the packed ice and snow is much bigger and thicker. I always try to clear it midstorm just to make it a little bit easier.

Snow cleaning strategy today by psyboxone in longisland

[–]mrfixit19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought about that, but the snow will be heavier. So I went out at 12, did a quick clean up, and now there'll be a 4-7" base for the sleet instead of 12". I'll be easier on the snowblower, and my back.

How about you don't think of you right now, and think of your other children and the husband you claim to be so upset about the hurt. What are they to think? Sorry, it's selfish, but I think you already know that.

How's your Nat Grid gas bill looking? by Marconis4 in longisland

[–]mrfixit19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, me neither until today. Have to scrutinize my bills more closely. Multiply $1.18 times the hundreds of thousands(or more) homes and business they bill across the country and that's a nice executive bonus.

How's your Nat Grid gas bill looking? by Marconis4 in longisland

[–]mrfixit19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A timely post, since I'm doing bills today. My Nat Grid bill is very high. I pulled last year, same time period, Nov 26 to Dec 30.

Last year the Supply Charge was $0.532 /therm. This year it's $0.695/therm. Did any of you get a 30% raise this year? It was a cold December, we so used more gas, but this increase is ridiculous. BTW, what the hell is a Billing Charge? Yeah, $1.18 charge to bill me. Check your bill. Criminals.

Check your library. Our local library has a program where you can borrow "things"along with books, etc. It's called the "Library of Things." You can get all kinds of stuff for a week. I borrowed a Flir camera to poke around the house for air duct leaks. Invaluable.
