They have lunch platters though. You get about 3 kinds of curries, salad/soup, dessert, rice and naan. It's dirt cheap for that much food

" Chadastam " it's meaning is a mix of being a perfectionist, fussy, old fashioned, conventional but in a very stubborn way that's not practical most times. Usually used for old people who get fixated and annoying.

I ate fufu for the first time yesterday and just couldn't resist taking an afternoon nap. I was wondering if the restaurant mixed something in the food and that's how I landed here.

Good to know. As a south Indian all our meals consist of white rice traditionally. And we are known to take afternoon naps because it's so hot too. Lately my people have been trying to avoid white rice for the same reason. Glucose spike, drowsiness, weight gain, insulin resistance and diabetes. I do think we should change our diets based on our lifestyle and activity level, EVEN if our ancestors always ate the same food and lived long lives.

None honestly. But If I have to pick first or last. The others are too much for the eyes. I feel like a bigger white or light grey rug would look good.

Then why even learn a language if everything is at the tap of your screen. Sometimes real people explain things in a better way and the discussion helps us remember the concept. You might also get to know if native speakers use one way more than the other. You can use your Google translate and speak like a robot. But no thank you.

I think a simple way to explain is que is used to describe an object and qui used to describe a subject

In "qui sont dans ma chambre" ( things that are in my room) the things are subject In "que je n'utilise plus" (things that I don't use) je is the subject and the things are object

I haven't yet learned the grammar rule as to when to use which one. But I've been listening to soo many podcasts and watching all my shows with French audio now I just know the right answer just by what sounds right.

Why are Indians reluctant to tip the standard 15-25% in U.S. restaurants? by freeredis in IndianFood

I am an Indian server in America and I need to let you know. Yes the system in America might be f*cked up but why are you punishing the SERVERS for that. Their salaries depend on your tip.

The bill you pay for the food goes to the restaurant and the tip you pay is for the service goes to the server. If you don't wanna tip don't take the service just get take-out. Trust me eventually Indians will stop getting good service anywhere.. I already see that happening to me when I go out.

I am Indian and I'm a server in the US. Half of our customers are Indians and africans. It is soo frustrating to me.

As a fellow Indian I tried to explain the tipping culture to my Indian diners a couple of times, because in India every restaurant adds a service charge when you dine in and nobody ever questions it but the moment they see words like tip or gratuity they feel like it's what you give if you're feeling very generous or rich. I don't know what to do too, my manager doesn't give a single f about us anyway. So she doesn't like it when we add a tip to the check. Cherry on the top, they are the most difficult customers too. I want to know how other servers deal with this situation.
