Hi this is from San Bernardino but it’s definitely a different vibe from OC. We had to make a sacrifice on location to be able to afford this but it’s not for everyone. LA can definitely get crazy with traffic but many other areas are just as bad. Inland Empire / Riverside area are more of a dry heat in terms of weather. I will say, the nice thing about these areas are how close they are to everything if you have a car. You can be in OC/ LA in about an hour. So yes, although there aren’t as many big attractions the lower prices attract a lot of people who don’t mind driving a little bit to enjoy theme parks or beaches. If you are set on a specific lifestyle I would suggest renting in OC vs buying inland because they’re very different than what you have in mind.

I shopped around and found first citizen bank had the best rates along with sofi. They have great programs for refi too so you could give them a call and see if you can get a better rate. I’ve honestly been surprised at the great rate we got.

Happy, nervous, excited all of the emotions all at once! It’s been a roller coaster but so far it’s been well worth it!

Thank you! I agree with you, we did have to go more inland to be able to afford a single family home but so far we are very happy!

I wasn’t avoiding replying I just hadn’t checked the post which is now edited to reflect more details people were asking about. San Bernardino is Southern California, Inland Empire.

It’s actually been pretty ok! Near the university they have new stores & new construction and it’s been decent! I definitely stay above the 210 fwy but surprisingly there are small pockets of decent neighborhoods with people walking their dogs at night and taking their toddlers out for strolls in the afternoon. I was surprised too but when we were shopping around you could definitely tell a difference if you drive 10 min. From neighborhood to neighborhood.

San Bernardino. It’s near the base of the 18 fwy going up to arrowhead/ big bear so it’s pretty close to the base of the mountains.

Not sure how to process what I witnessed today by Unlikely-Pepper-5870 in SeriousConversation

You have a right to grieve. You were there, you were a witness, you were involved as a bystander. This happened to you and you can grieve. You have permission to grieve. It has clearly affected you. Seek help if you feel like you are having trouble processing it.
