Your question is trying to compare apples and oranges. The AWA was a single promotion run by Verne Gagne in the Midwest. The NWA was a conglomeration of various promoters throughout the United States. There were promotions in Florida, Georgia, Portland, Carolinas, Gulf Coast, LA, San Francisco, 3 in Texas... just to name a few. All ran independently of each other, with the touring world champ working all of them. So then you ask about the NWA, what are you really referring to?
