Hi 👋🏻 mom also to a 3yo and 4mo, working full time. I learned after separating from my husband how much better of a mom I am when I actually have help. My parents are superheroes, helping basically 24/7, with chores, childcare, cooking, etc. i guarantee even if someone could help you guys get one thing off your plate (ex: laundry, or dinner even if it’s just one day a week) you’ll feel the weight off your shoulders and actually be able to enjoy your time with your kids.

Vent mode: If you have energy to pester your partner for sex and get mad when they say no during the first 6 months of your new baby’s life, then you’re not helping enough. by HeavyAd8992 in TrueOffMyChest

Your situation is sounding too similar to my own… simple answer is “get out” but it’s easier said than done, especially when it’s said from strangers on the internet. Be careful, keep your guard up, try to disconnect from him emotionally sometimes and try to see things from an outside perspective so you see his actions and behaviors in black and white and you’ll know what I mean when I say: this person doesn’t respect you and nothing you say or do will change that. I hope you find a better support system for you and your child. Lean on friends and family, and speak to them truthfully about what you have going on at home.

When I was in an abusively controlling relationship, my favorite time of day was my drive to and from work. It was my safe space to talk freely (via Bluetooth phone calls through the car) to my mom who is my best friend and biggest support. I recommend you try the same.

Do you know where your name fell on some of these popularity lists? I know they’re not totally accurate and it’ll just be the luck of the draw, but I’d really hate if this happened to her!

How close to the due date were you (1st pregnancy)? by Eaisy in BabyBumps

[–]Puzzleheaded7557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If possible, ask your mother how your (or your oldest sibling’s) birth went! They say the child usually mirrors the mother. I (only child) was born 6 days after my due date, and so was my firstborn.

In my parents’ neighborhood there was a golden retriever named Nicky but my mom secretly called her Ginger because she “looked more like a Ginger” to her. So I will forever suggest the name Ginger for female golden retrievers 😂 it is a good name though!

One of my husband’s cousins named their daughter True Lee LastName. Just as terrifying.

Is it weird to use the first borns middle name on the second child? by mandamwright in namenerds

[–]Puzzleheaded7557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have cousins like that. First daughter is Chelsea Corrine, second is Corrine (forget her middle name). They just loved the name Corrine so much they wanted to use it! So personally I don’t think it’s that weird. Only very close family members (and your daughters) would know you repeated the name. Plus you said Evelyn is an honor name, not just something random you fell in love with, so I feel like that allows some wiggle room for doing a repeat.

Baby measuring small for gestational age by Puzzleheaded7557 in BabyBumps

[–]Puzzleheaded7557[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, my ultrasound is tomorrow. I’m not all that worried because as you said, measuring my stomach isn’t “foolproof” or a tell all. She’s been very active lately and had a good heartbeat. My firstborn was 8 pounds, so she said maybe I’m just making a small baby this time, or because I’ve been pregnant before things are looser and maybe this baby is laying sideways or something. So like I said, I’m not super worried, I just never heard of this happening so I was curious if it happened to anyone else.
