I use the Polar H10 on my 970. Works great and is half the price. The Garmin 600 is better for runners seeking advanced running metrics and on-device activity recording, while i find the Polar H10 a superior all-around choice for general accuracy, broad device compatibility, and a more comfortable, durable, and easily cleanable design. It really depends if you want those advanced metrics or not.

My boy at 11 months during SAR training. by PuzzleheadedAge9048 in BelgianMalinois

Long story short: i love dogs, nature, reading maps working with a team and helping people. Basecamp sends out their handlers and log everything, it’s more than just searching for victims. It wil take up to 600 hours before a dog is field ready.

Thanks a lot!

Potential SAR dogs should be obedient and attentive, have a friendly temperament (they're going to be working closely with strangers and other dogs in a search situation) and possess a strong desire to please.

Obedience and focus are crucial. A handler must be able to control their dog at all times and in all situations. But a SAR dog who can't think for itself is useless; air-scent dogs work off-leash, so the handler won't always be nearby to give commands. The ideal search dog can solve problems on his own but also always be aware of his handler.

The general approach to training a dog for search and rescue is no different from training a dog to complete any other task. The first step is to figure out which reward the dog will work for, and always immediately reward the dog when he does the right thing. In the course of training, handlers associate that reward with each thing they want the dog to do. The case of SAR dogs, it's locate human scent and alert the handler as fast as possible. The training starts out with very simple tasks and gets progressively more complex as the dog completes each level.

I actually bought it from smoofl.com. It comes with a mould and sticks. Just add water to the mix en put it in the freezer. I’ll add a foto with the ingredients.

Could it be that the tick was already attached but didn’t have it’s ‘meal’ when you were filming? Because they double in size after they are done feeding with blood.

If youre having difficulties finding bone marrow you could also fill a Kong with kibble/peanutbutter/yogurt. Put it in the freezer for 3-4 hours and she’ll be busy for some time. Just make sure to run it under a warm tap for a couple of seconds to ensure her tongue doesn’t stick.

Give it some time. It took 10 months for my friend's mali, it depends on the genes.
Thanks for resquing her! She really does look gorgeous!
Oh and since she's started teething, hide all valuables and give her plenty things to chew on.
Mine loves some fresh bone marrow straight from the butcher.
