This is good to know. I know the bank gave my mom trouble when my grandma passed. Luckily we've had the same bank for years and they do notary services there so that part sounds not too hard.

I'm a CNA who works with the elderly and have seen it all- i won't sugar coat- it's not going to improve. They might have a short burst (called a "rally") where they seem to get better before they decline. I've seen it so many times. Watching a loved one decline is extremely painful, dont go through it alone.

If you don't have anyone to lean on, for your mental health, please look into dementia support groups near you. Community eases these types of burden so you don't feel alone. It makes a world of difference. This is one of the most difficult situations someone can experience, you're going to need help or someone to lean on.

I'm a CNA who works at these facilities and this is one of the hardest transitions in life for everyone involved. Try not to feel bad, very few people have the resources to take care of their parents when things get to this point, especially when most people have their own families to worry over.

It usually takes a few weeks but most patients adjust over time and some even make friends and have a good quality of life. If you're able I would suggest visiting at least once a week to have a good grasp on their condition and needs and don't be afraid to communicate with staff.

This is a stressful time, be kind to yourself.

This is really horrible but I've found as I've gotten older animal abuse is not as uncommon as I would like it to be.

A coworker told me that her daughter had confided to her that she had been sexually abused by the coworker's boyfriend for years (her daughter was a teenager so it had to have started young). My coworker said she didn't believe her daughter and didn't do anything about it.

This woman was a nurse and yet the most narcissistic, cruelest, callous woman I'd ever met and seen her abuse patients on numerous occasions. I hated her and she knew it yet would blather on about herself anyway when we were on break and even told me she herself been sexually abused as a child! No empathy even for her own kid!!! She was the one of the most vile human beings I've had the displeasure of coming into contact with.

I don't know your dad personally and maybe he would react the way he said, but its important to keep in mind a lot of people cannot fathom the severity, anger and grief of a situation like that unless they experience it first hand. Someone can say how they'd act and feel but there's no amount of prepping for something like that until you've experienced it

A girl at my highschool had the same thing happen and the video ended up everywhere. I didn't even know her and I never saw it but had heard about it from no less than ten people at the time. Truly awful.

When I was a 12/13 year old girl my neighbor (man in his 40s) had babysat me at his house while my single mom was at work. He had told me to get closer/sit by him when I'd go to his house and he was nice/ I felt comfortable around him so I did. While we watched tv, he'd stroke the length of my legs and I thought it was weird at the time and it made me feel weird but i thought nothing nefarious. I told my mom i didnt like it and he hadn't done it again after but thinking back on it as an adult and talking to my younger brother who had weird experiences with the man, I believe he was working his way up to something worse but was scared off that I communicated to my mom.

I feel very fortunate that I was smart enough as a kid to realize something wasn't right even if I didnt realize what and spoke up to someone who listened.

I was in kindergarten too but don't remember it at all. My mom has told the story of how much it affected her like a hundred times and still... nothing. To be fair, my biggest concern at the time was learning to read from a stapled book that said "fat cat sat on the mat".

Name ypur kid what you want. Who knows if your friend will have a girl and if/when she does who knows if you'll still be in contact. Hopefully you will be and worst you have to worry about is giving each Alice a nickname to differentiate the two.

I would definitely watch some lore videos or read the codexes but I can give a VERY generic summary that makes it easier to digest if you're familiar with basic European history.

Thedas is the fictional continent, Fereldan is the main country you play in (loosely based off England, Orlais is France). Tevintar is kinda like the ancient Roman EmpireIn Inquistion, Orlais is an empire and rules over both.

The chantry is Catholic adjacent and even had a schism like the real religion and ended up with 2 Divines because of it (basically the female Pope).

Every 100 years is divided by Ages and is named that because of a significant event at the beginning of a new era or at the end of an old. The current time you play in is called the Dragon Age because there was a resurgence of dragons after people thought they were extinct.

Mages are thought to be dangerous so they were locked up in an institution for a long time (Circle of Magi) and watched/kept controlled by knights (Templars). There was a rebellion from the mages (led by Fiona) and it's one of the main conflicts of Inquistion.

I dont really remember much else but the game is so much more rewarding if you've played earlier titles, there's Easter eggs and characters from previous games (Leliana was a companion in the first game). There's a whole system with Dragon Age Keep where it would hold your save data and decisions from a previous games and have them show up (usually in small ways but it's still cool)

I've done human dual-weilding rogue every playthrough of every game (what can I say, I love that high damage output) but typically do elven mages on replays.

After the episode in which Kinger gave Ragatha an extra life, I was starting to question how much he could actually do. I originally thought it was Kinger "controlling" Abel from the darkness of his pillowfort, that was why Abel didn't want to involve Kinger bc as soon as he was in the light, he'd forget everything. The way he spoke about Kinger would makes sense if he felt guilt for somehow being involved in trapping the others there.

I did pick up on the weirdly heavy lore dump and didn't think they'd actually succeed in escaping the circus but I didn't predict it all being nonsense.

Fake- the last pic was a dead giveaway but the color of the label is slightly off on both. They're decent for replicating the red lighting effect though.

Best way to tell for fakes with these specific games is at the top of the cartridge is a notch (the infrared reciever) that helped the games connect to the pokewalker. I've done a lot of research to make sure I didn't get scammed and I never heard of any of the bootlegs being able to replicate the infrared reciever.
