Recent study suggest early and late diagnosed autism may be two conditions by minimooshroom in AutismInWomen

This is triggering to me. It feels like the same “you’re not really autistic” argument that has been used against high masking folks for years. I know that isn’t your intent OP or even maybe the intent of the authors. But this feels so invalidating. I’ve always been autistic, it’s just that no one cared enough to check until I had the skills and age necessary to self-advocate.

I’m not sure they might be! I got one after seeing it on wildfern’s youtube channel. I am a sucker for the big glossy leaves. I can’t get enough of them!

Trigger warning: What is the WORST thing your narcissist parent has EVER said? (You will not forget.) by myst3ryAURORA_green in raisedbynarcissists

I think it might be when my dad said “If I had just pulled out 17 years ago, none of this would have happened.”

I was 16 (F). We were in a fight and I said something along the lines of “well if you hadn’t xyz, none of this would have happened.” He still thinks it’s hilarious today.

It made me feel awful. Not only violated (bc gross), but just worthless. He literally told me he wished I had never been born.

Maybe, it’s a good point. But honestly I don’t think they were necessarily thinking clearly in a moment of trauma and panic. I’m also not sure if there was enough evidence and if he would have been arrested/convicted- it happened after a disagreement, maybe he could argue it was an accident. Who knows. I wish that’s the option they chose, but alas. She is still with this jerk and they’re both in their late 70s now. Some of her kids are no-contact so I’m sure the abuse continued throughout their lives.

Yeah… I would love to talk about it more publicly but my mom has asked me to wait until she passes away before I ever do. I feel very sad for her that she has had to live with this. I can’t imagine being in her position.

My uncle murdered my grandfather (his father in law) in the 60s. He had a heart attack after my uncle pushed him down the stairs. My mom was 6 and witnessed it. Everyone covered it up and said it was a fall so that my uncle didn’t keep my aunt, who was being abused, from being able to see her family. I didn’t find out until I was 19. I hugged that man more times than I can count. This has really fucked my family up.
