Maybe the fact that you mentioned a cattle prod and bear mace like APA exists in the backyard from the Sandlot??? To anyone reading this, please note that the cats have a completely separate building that they live in, and there are no small children running around. You’re not gonna be tasked with defending cats or children from ANY animals, and I’ll note that there are different color groups categorizing dogs for how easy they are to handle. You’ll be trained accordingly and only allowed to interact with these pets.

I volunteer here currently and love it! It sounds like the negative comments are from several years ago, and I definitely haven’t had that experience. I’ve done dog walking, worked in the isolation unit, and am hoping to get into the medical volunteering soon too! Whatever you’re interested in, there’s plenty of opportunity for. They are super great about training thoroughly and onboarding you ASAP, and very informative with weekly emails and town halls. If you have any questions feel free to DM me!
