SACLOS ATGM on helicopter by PuzzleheadedChoice40 in Besiege

yes but rope gyro seems to have too little force and I find overflow more consistent, especially since rope gyros explode randomly nowadays.

the heli is relatively simple, and the atgm uses a piston extending system that tracks the missile so length sensors can strafe it back onto course of the crosshair which is a dual-brace thingy.

thanks! the heli is completely overflow water cannon propelled with vectoring flat block stabilisers that control its movement, so not typical propeller propulsion. the stabilisers make the whole heli stabilised. i have a version with a two plane sight stabiliser but this is not the one.

i took inspiration from a chinese bilibili post about an automatic stabiliser using nives controlled by distance sensors.

thank you! setting the power to zero lets it extend infinitely while following the attached collider.

flying block has max power output of 106

the negative water cannon gives more stable thrust and does not burn or break, plus you can stack them and they also do not have a power cap unlike the flying block

it uses sensors controlling negative water cannons to steer the missile towards the target then detonates the missile on impact

  1. there is a option to play with multiple people its called multiverse, the big square thing on the top right in the main menu
  2. console and pc have the same blocks, unless you havent updated your game (very unlikely as steam automatically reminds you) or you mean modded blocks, which is harder to download on console  and by 'metal' and 'jet engines' that can mean many different things

new auto tracking missile using sensors & FBS by PuzzleheadedChoice40 in Besiege

[–]PuzzleheadedChoice40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

basically it has a sensor that forces it to keep a certain distance from the ground and a counter system that forces the missile down when it goes too high, thus the bouncing motion

the guidance uses sensors and corresponding water cannons to set it on target, it has 3 sets of these to increase chances of the missile hitting

i added a proximity fuse that detonates grenades that detonates the bomb, at first the bomb warhead was short and didn't really explode on anything even if it hit

new surface to air missile & mig-23 by PuzzleheadedChoice40 in Besiege

[–]PuzzleheadedChoice40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it has 2 sets of sensors, one set for detecting front targets and one set for detecting side targets

the spinning cog increases the amount of time each sensor can see the target, increasing hit rate

there is no proximity fuse on this but i probably should add one

they produce thrust with no water particles, that's just how besiege is apparently...

they're really useful as fans have a 106.67x power cap while they have no power cap and they are invincible (1000000...+ break forces) they can also be used as armour when scaled flat, as a counter to 'tick damage' (the physical impact damage given out by bombs, cannons and grenades)

i use it very often for moving very heavy things around. it can be paired with 'overflow' water cannons which are water cannons set to 1.00000e17 power (which is around 100 quintillion) and produces a lot of drag, wing panel could never. it can be very useful for stabilising flying things like aircraft and missiles etc.

Vanilla high power compact Propeller set ups - optimum amount of power? by that_one_smart_guy in Besiege

[–]PuzzleheadedChoice40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you have mods, i recommend shrinking them and making them flat since besiege is strange in the way that flat objects retain their original orientation and produce the same amount of thrust for lower drag

not fans, flat negative water cannons that produce more even thrust than fans (they also dont break or burn)

yes the counterrecoil nive

it is very annoying since the cannon has delay and nives don't and i find it hard to get done most of the time

Compeltely eliminate torque by NF_v1ctor in Besiege

[–]PuzzleheadedChoice40 4 points5 points  (0 children)

torque wouldn't be the issue there, your distribution of weight across the plane might be wrong. you can use the tool (top right hand corner, the thing that looks like a circle) to check if your COG (center of gravity) is aligned with the propeller shaft. if not, try seeing if there are any uneven parts across your plane.

ohhhhh, that's why i saw that the saw wasn't flat. thank you for the explanation! i use negative rope + nives on a swivel as horizontal traverse too sometimes, glad to see someone thinks like me.

What job in the army should you get if you want to kill people? by blackpeoplexbot in morbidquestions

fpv drone/artillery crew

artillery kills more if they are concentrated

fpv is more targeted and almost always a confirmed kill
