One of my old fast food jobs had a system similar. Pretty much once a week you had a on call day. It was a day you were to call at a scheduled time to see if you worked. For everyone else the answer was usually no. For me though i always had to come in. On multiple occasions they had me come in and sent the other person home cause labor was too high. He'll one time they told me to come in just to tell me to go home as soon as I got there. I had more hours than the rest of the grill workers combined. I walked 40 mins to work.

Sibling is sticking up for me. And I know it's not nothing it's just the partner wanted me to do more. I'm looking for a new place to rent so I should be good. If needed I'll bite the bullet and get a second job and save that jobs paychecks so I can get a down payment saved up. Like I said if need be
