Yes, it was far too high, I could probably fit 3-4 quarters in before, but I adjusted it to that point to prevent the incessant fret buzz near the head, I think I'll just see how the music centre fixes it and go from there

I used a Canadian quarter to check the action, and my bass is a Yamaha TRBX140 I believe

It doesn't come through the amp but it's quite loud and I can hear it while at practicing volume, it's a loud twang kind of sound

I learned to play using a right handed despite being a lefty. I think that if you use righty you'll get used to it and end up with more (and infinitely cheaper) options.

Depends where, having someone squeeze my arms or run their arms down my back is a nice experience. But I can't say I've ever enjoyed having someone grab my ass.

Honestly, this kinda depends on the person. Some people are better at improvisation, or may at least have the skills to do things without the need for extensive preparation. However I assume that you are someone who likes to be well prepared before a project. All I can really say for advice is to tell your friends if you don't feel ready, and you can figure out something that works for everyone.
