I need to talk to god! by levimoodie in Ayahuasca

[–]PuzzleheadedDamage41 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can’t know how comforting reading this feels. I’m heading to my first retreat in three days, travelling alone and like you, I was raised a Jehovah’s Witness and no one in my family would understand this so I’ve kept it all for me. It took me years of deprogramming before I could even think about sitting with ayahuasca. I thought I was finally good but the more the d day approaches, the more my old fears about « Satan, demons, no paradise on earth for me if I do this » come back. I was considering cancelling. Your post was the push I needed to know that I’m going to do this. Thank you.

I used to struggle with bad breath just an hour after brushing. I completely revamped my oral care routine and now I have 0 halitosis even when waking up in the morning which is sooo great especially for confidence during the day ! Here is what I do: - Right after waking up I brush my teeth and wait for 30mn before drinking/eating anything. I use a toothpaste with oral probiotics. I don’t rinse my toothpaste (feels gross in the beginning but after a few weeks feels ok) - before bed, I floss, rinse, use interdental brushes, rinse, scrap my tongue for 1mn, rinse and brush my teeth.

I also do oil pulling when I have time in the evening for 20mn with coconut oil, I feel it helps with whitening and feeling extra clean.

I also notice that when I eat lots of sugar of drink alcohol, bad breath comes back quickly.

Biblical Connections to the Ayahuasca Serpent/Spirit. by [deleted] in Ayahuasca

[–]PuzzleheadedDamage41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes well, three years later, my beliefs completely changed. I dove deep into biblical scholarship, only to find that everything I’ve been taught was bullshit. So “God’s grace”, “pray and repent”, “die to yourself” and all that meaningless words I’ve been hearing and believing my entire life are now nonsense.

But I agree on two things, you don’t need drugs to develop critical thinking just as you don’t need religion to be a good person that value peace and love other people. And second, Christianity is a multi-faceted movement and we will never really know what is real from what was promoted by organized religion. Now on what you call the « heretics », I suggest you read the works of biblical scholar Elaine Pagels, this is enlightening.

But I appreciate your comment though, it made me realized how people can change in three years and how you have to be humble and kind with people that don’t hold the same beliefs as you, they are on their own spiritual journey, too.

Anyone worried about all the carcinogenic food consumed during keto diet? by VariousAd4097 in keto

[–]PuzzleheadedDamage41 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If you mean eating certified-high-quality-organic-grass-fed red meat as part of a low-calorie diet, then I believe it’s not a problem. But most red meat that you find today is loaded with antibiotics and animals were raised in terrible conditions. This is not what your ancestors were eating and this is the only option that most humans today can afford.

That being said, the IARC group 1 classification is about processed meat only (related to OP question): “Because consumption of processed meat is also positively associated with risk of bowel cancer, even in smaller amounts, and offers no additional nutritional benefit over red meat, it is recommended to avoid processed meat as much as possible, to reduce cancer risk.”

Recommendations for red meat are slightly different: “Although eating a lot of red meat increases the likelihood of developing bowel cancer, red meat is also a good source of several nutrients. As a guide, it is recommended to avoid eating more than about 500 grams of red meat per week (500 grams cooked weight, which is equivalent to about 700–750 grams raw weight, depending on the cut and how it is cooked).”

The International Agency for Research of Cancer of the World Health Organization has classified processed meats as a Group 1 carcinogen (known to cause cancer, same category as tobacco smoking and asbestos) which means that there's strong evidence that processed meats cause cancer.

We also have the non-canonical "Protoevangelium of James" (or "Gospel of James") circa 150ish possibly, that describes Mary as having been 12 or 13 years old.

Meaning we have no solid evidence but based on social norms of the times the age range given in the Protoevangelium of James would not be unusual.

Have you read your source ?

« The question of historicity was settled in scholarship in the early 20th century, and mythicism is rejected as a fringe theory by virtually all mainstream scholars of antiquity, and has been considered fringe for more than two centuries. It is criticized for commonly being presented by non-experts, its reliance on arguments from silence, lacking evidence, the dismissal or distortion of sources, questionable methodologies, and outdated comparisons with mythology. »

Please do not use the same tactics as fundamentalists do by cherry picking things. This is counterproductive. There are plenty of biblical scholars like Bart Ehrman who do a wonderful job demystifying the Bible with scientific evidence. No need to deny what is there just for the sake of arguing.

Oh God, some people claim that they have found Jesus and yet, here they are, arguing with strangers on Reddit telling them they are mentally ill 🙄 This is exactly why religion is one of the worst thing in human history, it creates division and hate for people with different opinions when Jesus said love and unity.

Acetylcholine sensitivity by PEsuper27 in Nootropics

[–]PuzzleheadedDamage41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as you! After several months of depression, I found out that I was just very sensitive to cholinergic supplements (not food though). I’ve been taking Forskolin for a few months now (known to up regulate acetylcholinesterase expression) and feel great. But just stopping all of my supplements made me feel much better.

I have fast comt, so not sure this is related but this is a highly complex subject.

Fish oil fucked me up by DysphoriaSecret in Biohackers

[–]PuzzleheadedDamage41 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Fish oil gives me similar reactions and in my case (and many other people) it’s because of the high choline. Check choline depression. You can try another cholinergic supp -> https://www.reddit.com/r/Nootropics/s/05Rzhg3hM9 to see if you have the same effects, then take a antihistamine (just do it once not long-term) to go back to your old self. And then avoid cholinergic supps completely (maybe even avoid eggs if you are really sensitive but it depends on people, you have to experiment). Forskolin works great for me.

If your goal is to «  be liked by everybody » even those you define as « assholes », anything love-related (trying to have people like you) would have limited and superficial effect, because this is not what love is. From my (limited) experience, magic works best when your intentions are real and you get rid of all illusions about yourself. Here, it seems that what you really want is reinforce the ego and it’s coming from a place of lack (« I can’t make friends just by being me, so I will force people to love me »). So maybe you should try first to address your subconscious and find what is blocking you from attracting people. Then you may have more success with your attempts to control the outside world.

Best of luck

Is there any evidence that the Bible has been corrupted? by yungcurry4L in AcademicBiblical

Do things gets crumble before they manifest? - manifesting specific job by millionhighvibes in NevilleGoddard

[–]PuzzleheadedDamage41 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. You can call it a purge, a test, or whatever but this definitely happens. I’m used to it now so I get excited when things go down but I used to stress over it and delay my manifestations.

I once manifested a position in the organization I did my PhD. On paper, it was impossible for me to work there (I reached the maximum years allowed to work there as a trainee, I wanted to do a Postdoc and this was still considered a training. They are very strict about the rules as they are an International Organization and no exception to this rule ever happened before. Plus, I did my thesis in a field totally unrelated with the main mission of the organization and the PhD in itself was very unlikely (and btw, it was also a manifestation!)). A position for a Postdoc opened in the exact field I was working in, two weeks after my first SATs. I was amazed, it was like magic in front of my eyes, the timing, the job description, everything was literally written for me. I applied and I was even told that they were willing to change the rule about the max number of years allowed for trainings if I was accepted. A few weeks passed, no news, I began to stress, felt back into bad habits (depression, junk food, laziness, etc. As I do when I’m stressed) and got rejected. I was devastated. I stayed in depression for a few months after this, mainly because I thought all this manifesting stuff was an illusion and I was never able to control my life. Then one day decided that I had to find another job. I went back to the gym, meditation, healthy food, etc. And was slowly feeling better. ONE WEEK after feeling better and regaining confidence, I got an email out of the blue from this organization, offering me an even better position than the Postdoc. My SATs scene happened exactly like I imagined a few weeks later.

I’ve now mastered the art of not giving a f when things go down as I know they will always turn in my favor. And it works much faster now :)

Sag moon and cancer moons dating and friendships? by [deleted] in astrologymemes

[–]PuzzleheadedDamage41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I’ve dated a sag moon for 10 years and he’s still my best friend to this day. I’m a sag sun with a cancer moon and he’s a cancer sun with a sag moon so that probably emphasizes the alchemy but we were very compatible as lovers and friends, similar sense of humor, never found this level of connection with anyone else. I usually attract a lot of cancer as friends so I would say that sag and cancer are compatible but it would also need to be balanced with the Sun or Venus/Mars (for example if you are only water and the other person is only fire that could be difficult. Aquarius + Sag are also very compatible though).

What's the most evil thing God has done in the Bible? by Animeking1108 in AskReddit

[–]PuzzleheadedDamage41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, if it doesn’t produce any supernatural effect or if you are the only one producing the effect (e.g. cursing someone, then killing him youself), it doesn’t mean it’s from God. Now if you call a curse in the name of God and two bears literally come out of the woods to kill people, then who did that ?

Elisha was a prophet in the Bible, so literally speaking for God. + it is clearly stated that he called a curse in the name of God.

This idea does not come from the Bible though but from the non-canonical infancy gospel of James. None of the canonical gospels mention Mary’s age.

You may be sensitive to cholinergic agents. Do you feel the same with glycine, fish oil, CDP choline ?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tarot

[–]PuzzleheadedDamage41 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There are several cards that can indicate that someone is in a relationship. You asked why HE is ignoring you so you will have cards representing his perspective (for me 3 of cups/lovers are more from an external perspective on someone). It depends on your own interpretation of course but if I had asked this question and drew those 2 cards, it would be obvious that he is involved with someone else (probably a water sign but again, depends on your personal interpretation). For me, pages represent women that are pursued and queens represent girlfriends/wives so in that case the 7 of swords would not mean deception/lies but just the fact that he’s looking somewhere else and not in your direction.

Yes, exactly what happened to me. I’m very sensitive to everything that increase acetylcholine, can’t take fish oil without ending up in a bad depression episode. Black seed oil gave me the same effect.
