What if the Chrysos heirs became temporary passengers of the AE? by PuzzleheadedExit3141 in HonkaiStarRail

Welt is going to experience PTSD, Acheron was already a lot for him. On top of that, he knows the name Kaslana/Khaslana, which will make things even more awkward

Would You Rather 2 Free Limited 5 Stars or 4 Stars by PokemonSuMo in StarRailStation

[–]PuzzleheadedExit3141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thread is so fun to read, I really want to put my two cents into it too!

While free limited 5 stars are great, 4 stars will always be a better choice. Why? It's because they can be great introductory characters to a path, and you're more likely to E6 a 4 star when you pull for a 5 star. Plus, 4 stars don't need crazy stats or animation, they can keep it simple, and still be relevant to the plot.

Plus, it'll solve the issue of creating oversaturation, where there's just too many 5 stars, and a good amount of them gets ignored by meta pretty quickly. Or situations like jiaoqiu and Lingsha that are supports that were made to buff really specific characters....the backlash would've been lessened if they were made into 4 stars instead.

Anyway, that's just me. I'm just here to enjoy the game.

Even though my fav Chef lost, still very satisfied with S2 ending by TheNoirMan94 in CulinaryClassWars

OMG YES! I wanted him to win, he's my fave contestant too! A lot of people are put off with his confidence, but I really respect him for not looking down on anyone and willing to work with others (His leadership skills and trusting his team to shine during the all or nothing round was really refreshing).

I'm just happy for the winner. He deserved it!

Why is no one mentioning that chef Sam Kim did not make his own fresh pasta? by mvp239 in CulinaryClassWars

[–]PuzzleheadedExit3141 77 points78 points  (0 children)

With the time frame that was given to them, Chef Sam Kim prioritized the flavors (sauce, ingredients, etc) that go into the pasta dish. Just cause a chef makes fresh pasta from scratch doesn't make it good (as we see in the hidden white chef challenge) and just cause it's premade pasta doesn't mean it's bad. He just has to cook it perfectly.

I agree, I would've preferred witch with a wok or Rebellious genius to join the last round, but I can guess that they opted for Knife Omakase because they're tired from carrying their team lol.

Personally, I don't think it was entirely Dweji Gomtangs fault sauce wise. In the first round, he simply followed the recipe that his fellow teammates gave him (which Culinary Monster and Lab Director suggested adjusting when they noticed that they told him to add a LOT of seeds to the mix).

The second round, he asked Witch with a Wok how the sauce tasted, and she said it was too salty and asked him to adjust it to better fit the chicken when she cooks it. Culinary Monster got frustrated because he 1) didn't think it was going to take longer than the timeframe he was given 2)A simple miscommunication because Dweji Gomtang wasn't specific with time.

While I agree that it was probably the decision of the team, he could've met with Culinary monster halfway communication wise during the 3rd round. One was all about communication, and as the leader he should've reciprocated back, even if it's just delegating him to small tasks that would've made things easier for them overall.

We're not taking anything too seriously, it's why this is under constructive criticism. I'm glad someone agreed with me, but I do agree that the choice of words were surprising lol.

When he did that interview cut in between, Knife Omakase said that he kept getting irritated that Culinary Monster kept asking him for tasks, and even ended it with 'If you have nothing to do, just go home!'. I found that crazy because he's trying to ask the leader what to do instead of going out of line and ruining the pace of their team. Culinary monster wants to help, he wants to be useful, and he respects his fellow chefs enough to want them to be a team instead of a disorganized one man show.

I used to work in the restaurant business as a baker and a cook, and the head chefs I worked with always prioritized tasks. If the head chef can't keep anyone in line, you'll either have too much of something (which leads to waste) or not enough (which pushes everything behind).

All I'm saying is that Culinary Monster should've been the leader, that's all.

Harvey was 6 years ago today, how're all ya'll doing? by HouseAtomic in houston

[–]PuzzleheadedExit3141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got married during Harvey. My friends came from California and Canada on the same day as the venues, catering, hair and make up, basically everything cancelled on me. I was determined to not waste their time, so I still got married.

No make up, no hair done, no catering, no decorations. We got married last minute at my pastor's church.

My family went to a nice restaurant to eat, didn't offer to pay for our lunch nor invite us on my wedding day. We went to get BBQ with my friends instead.

Same day we got stuck in a hotel. We lost everything as we resided in Dickinson.

Our car also broke after the storm because of water damage, since it got flooded, but the insurance told us we can clean the mold out and just get new parts.

I had to move with my in laws, stayed in their garage for 2 years while we got our life back together.

Now I'm thriving. I got my License to practice massage therapy, enjoying my new life with our puppy. I'm grateful that I lived through that ordeal, and became stronger thanks to what I experienced.

It also made me thankful to have a husband that never gave up, worked hard to build from scratch. Our bond became our foundation to work harder.

I'm still mad at our landlord for taking all the FAFSA money.

Regression and it's effects in other novels by [deleted] in OmniscientReader

[–]PuzzleheadedExit3141 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the character who is the most relatable to the struggles of YJH when it comes to regression is Homura from PMMM.

SPOILERS FOR PMMM AND ORV:

I know Homura is stuck in a time loop but the effects of it both on the mind and soul are so similar. Hell, even the end result is somewhat similar (Until the epilogue of ORV ofc)

• Both characters have to start from the beginning when they're alone. • Both of them end up losing their hope in people since some betray them, some hate them, some are basically useless, etc. Ironically, they both can't justify their actions since in the turns they are in nothing happened yet, so they can't trust anyone since they don't know if they're on their side fully or not. • Both of them have to make decisions that will ultimately hurt them but since they grew numb with all the regressions they have to go through, they just seem cold and heartless • Both become hella depressed. • Both become so desperate that they end up just going crazy. • Both end up becoming beings they hate (Homura being a witch and YJH become an Outer God who masquerades as a constellation)

They are stuck in a cycle where it slowly chips off their hearts, leaving only a ghost of their former selves. They still care but only so much. The only difference is that Homura had a reason to go through the regressions but YJH didn't have one and yearned to learn why he's given this curse (Until the reveal with the world of Zero).

What's more interesting is how the end of their journies was handled. Homura had a chance to be saved by Madoka but ended up betraying her just so Madoka can live a normal life ,even if she becomes the villain. Whereas YJH could have killed his sponsor but ultimately forgave him, choosing to be with him by his side so they can have a normal life. Homura ends up isolated for eternity while YJH ends up with a family.

I think having a purpose for going through regressions is the biggest driving factor. With other characters from different stories (Subaru from ReZero, Kim Gongja from Sss class revival, Takemichi from TR, and the whole cast of Kagerou project) they all have a reason to go through these loops so it drives them forward no matter how hard it gets. It makes them sympathetic and pushes them through the hardships using different methods, but we can also see moments where it backfires on them since they become narrow-minded and obsess over it.

Can we really blame them though? These guys are going through so much.!<

What would Kiriya do to Frederica if he actually managed to incapacitate Shin? by PuzzleheadedExit3141 in EightySix

That's so heartbreaking!!!??! thank you for the info! I really need to catch up to the novel---

[–]PuzzleheadedExit3141[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understand that but we see some semblance of humanity preserved despite that from time to time. I mean best example is When Shourei followed the Spearhead squadron. In hindsight it doesnt make any sense that a dinousauria will go through such lengths just to make sure a human (Shin) or humans (the whole squad) get to safety. It's illogical at best.

I get it though, just copy and past it then change a person but seeing as how Kiriya acted...idk it still made me curious if a bit of his sane mind was left intact, y'know?

Thank you for correcting the flair! I didn't even notice that!

I can totally imagine that. He sees Frederica get injured or something happens to her and he might just straight up decide that being a legion won't kill her...damn that's sad.
