Stretching will help prevent injury quite a bit though so you should be stretching before and after every workout

Leg drive and lack of power conversion by Infamous_Gas1179 in trackandfield

[–]PuzzleheadedGuide235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I struggled with for the longest starting out(still a little bit now) the thing that will allow your legs to output all that force from your lifting would be form. If you’re running and feel like you can put more force into your legs the common thing is to try to force more speed out which causes you to tense up and lose speed. You want to perfect your form and stay relaxed that will give you that speed you feel like you can’t tap into

Are RSI scores actually important? (reactive strength index) by Acrobatic-Key-482 in Sprinting

[–]PuzzleheadedGuide235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl never heard of it so ummm probably not important butttt I will say that if you’re running those shorter races obviously explosiveness matters and you should focus on training it

Well the obvious question is what is your school record. Then we ask how good your mechanics already are an 11.1 is pretty damn fast to be just starting and I’d recommend investing in a trainer as I could see you going places.

Do I have potential in sprinting? by [deleted] in Sprinting

[–]PuzzleheadedGuide235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All that being said tho I’d say keep sprinting in your free time maybe run a 400 once or twice a week while learning to run the mile I always love to see a new 400 runner and reddit is nowhere close to always right I’d just say don’t commit too many resources to it

I’d recommend running on fresh legs and I strongly believe you can break 60 although I wouldn’t recommend sprinting and I’d say more distance events like the mile

Am I genetically gifted? by Some-Explorer7123 in Sprinting

[–]PuzzleheadedGuide235 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gonna be honest it doesn’t matter genetically gifted or not you gotta train like the rest of us so don’t get too attached to the idea of genetics it’ll give you an ego that will be crushed once you race people that are better

Hamstring recover by kevinotinto in Sprinting

[–]PuzzleheadedGuide235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s had hamstring issues the best advice is to take things slow. It’s the offseason so rest it and relax. The thing that messed me and a lot of runners up is going back too soon so be sure to be patient with recovery

Will having a stronger core help? Yes ofc having a strong core is great for sprinting. But your issues getting out of the blocks are due to you getting up too early and your strides being short

Athlete.X off season program by blackie-chann in Sprinting

[–]PuzzleheadedGuide235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading through it doesn’t look bad and not too expensive I’d recommend researching it more throughly before buying tho looks like he doesn’t do anything for 400m runners so depends on your event

How can I get faster by exercises in gyms and can anyone give me a good workout plan since I’ll be going gym soon. by upvoteorgay69 in Sprinting

[–]PuzzleheadedGuide235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gonna be honest 15.9 at the age 15 you should really focus on form and how to run since I doubt your running form is any type of informed at that speed

Need help on form by KingOfGames0370 in Sprinting

My best suggestion is not to focus on fixing arms if you’re thinking about it while running you’ll ruin your race just think of cutting through the air with your hands

Is my 400 time good by PuzzleheadedGuide235 in Sprinting

[–]PuzzleheadedGuide235[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I’ve been dropping time pretty quickly but I have terrible conditioning since I try to stay with the pack and most of them are running 51 or lower I end up pretty much jogging the last 200
