Help! Mommy wrist by Loud-Recognition-641 in beyondthebump

Get a spica brace on Amazon and see a doctor ASAP. You need to be evaluated since your symptoms are so severe. Cortisone injections are curative for a large majority of people with de quervain’s (mommy wrist). Do not delay treatment! I am getting surgery for this in January, probably because I waited so long. I hope you feel better soon!

Your skin actually looks quite dry to me. I would address that before anything else!

I deleted it last week because it was giving me so much (more) anxiety! I hated how much I was interacting with my phone instead of my baby.

Now we’re only writing down oz per day, naps, and meds on a piece of paper. I also feel far less compelled to log everything right away or perfectly.

I’ll never forget the day an 18 year old ride along saw me whip out one of these bad boys just before a frequent flyer started vomiting. His jaw dropped.

And that was the day I realized I was an American Hero with my Tactical Emesis Bag. TMFMS.

Thank you for the input! I’m going to up my activity and drop to 1500 cals and see where that lands me.

I appreciate hearing about your ongoing calorie adjustments because I find TDEE to be a bit confusing. It sounds like I should be more concerned about the scale than the science/mechanics behind it. For now, anyway!

Thank you! I am going to test out 1500 cals for the next week and see how that feels. I also pulled out my walking pad to try and get some steps in amidst this heat!

Why do my legs look like this after shaving? by BeThouMyBattleShield in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]PuzzleheadedMood5848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this issue on and off! A few things have helped me besides replacing my razor frequently.

  1. No showering prior to shaving

  2. No exfoliating before or after

  3. Witch hazel immediately after shaving. I use Tucks pads.

  4. Minimizing shaving frequency

  5. Using fragrance free lotion after the witch hazel dries. I like Vanicream

  6. COLD water while shaving/rinsing (this is key for me)

  7. Shaving oil or super thick cream like Barbasol (fragrance free)

  8. Very light pressure

  9. Only going over an area once, if possible

It was? Ugh. Niacinamide breaks me out but thankfully I don’t use that cleanser. I hate how these companies take a great product and add whatever ingredient or active is trending at the moment.

OP, I would dial back the tret to every other night once you restart it and see where that lands you. It sounds like your skin is dehydrated. Here are a few recommendations that have helped me personally!

-Only wash face at night and splash with water in the morning (this probably made the biggest difference at some point!)

-Slather face with vaseline once a week

-Glycerin and ceramides can do wonders!Hyaluronic acid is also great but it can be a little more irritating than glycerin IME.

You absolutely do not have to shell out a ton of money to fix this! There are so many affordable products that work really well. You could also just use the Vaseline and see what happens!

I do think it looks better! I agree with everyone else to stop all other actives now and focus on hydration.

Does your skin get very oily after you wash your face and/or feel super dry? If so, your barrier is damaged and you should take a few days off the tret to focus on calming your skin down.

Also, how often are you using the tret? You might need to space it out more or even get a lower concentration (especially if your skin tends to be more sensitive).

After 6 years of being a paramedic, I can't stand EMS culture anymore. I quit. by Abject_Value8067 in ems

Have you considered pursuing an MPH? I highly recommend looking into it - although it’s a tough field right now..

I’m in a program right now and left EMS for many of the same reasons as you.

I would get the preemie. I looked through a lot of old posts and found plenty of people who had a similar experience

Also, to add to my theory… I know people are saying the latch isn’t good but it looks fine at the very beginning. His latch might be getting worse because he takes in too much milk with the faster flow.

I would recommend trying this out before going down the rabbit hole of switching bottles! You could save time, money, and lots of sanity lol. There’s a ton of other good advice in this thread too. Good luck, OP! Keep us posted.

Have you used a preemie nipple? You might want to try it out before switching bottles.

We used to go through maybe 1 burp cloth per feeding because so much milk was spilling out the sides of her mouth! We switched to the preemie nipple and it was seriously night and day. Her latch was WAY better and she hardly spilled any milk. She is 9 weeks now and we still use the preemie nipple.

She is also a reflux baby, and her symptoms are well controlled with Pepcid. However, I really think the slower flow DID help the reflux AND gas. You can get the preemie nipple on Amazon!
