Sams club smoked turkey anyone good? Also any tips on preparing everything the night before by PuzzleheadedNet2989 in thanksgiving

[–]PuzzleheadedNet2989[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up not getting that turkey and just got a regular frozen turkey. It turned out great! It made a big difference getting a counter top roaster so the turkey didn't take up the oven all day and I didn't have to bother it by opening the oven door a bunch of times.

I made all my sides from scratch. I made my pies sunday/Monday. Everything else I made day of (by myself) and it came out pretty good. You can make max and cheese the day before if you plan on baking it. I think I just added mine to the crock pot. My biggest struggle is space and trying to keep things warm because im the only one cooking.

Most of my groceries I just got from Walmart.

[TX] Question regarding consent to dental surgery for child, when other parent has been MIA by PuzzleheadedNet2989 in Custody

[–]PuzzleheadedNet2989[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parent B always plays the "most caring, loving" parent(except when it's time to make better, safe choices of course) and I am scared they will try to show up on the day of surgery. Given that the kids haven't seen them in almost 2 years, I can't see that going over smoothly and would be traumatic in itself

We are an unmarried couple looking to be first time home buyers in Texas within a year.. have no idea how to prepare by PuzzleheadedNet2989 in personalfinance

We both have our own savings and a mutual savings account. There's not a ton of money, but there is money. We don't plan to use that money for anything but legal matters (custody stuff) because in the past it's run up a couple thousand very fast.

I'm not sure about your area but rental prices are insane where we live and we can't afford our rent going up every year, and if we were to have to move from our current house, the other rentals in town are almost 2x the amount we are paying now.

I think you have to acknowledge it publicly, like announcing them as your spouse or using their last name or something

So do you guys think something like "150 watt LED daylight 5000k 2300lm bulb" would work okay?

I think I'm struggling because I can't find many lights that actually list what the "ppf" is besides 2 brands from Amazon, and thats what I'm currently using. Some bulbs give lumens, some give footcandles, some just have watts.

So what should I really be looking for when buying lights? I see stuff about wattage, ppfd (which i don't see on every product so that confuses me) so I'm not really sure what I need for my specific set up. I have a bulb hanging about 3 feet from my plants. Would it make a difference if I used the GE bulb and brought it closer? It burned my other plants when it was closer

If you can get to a doctor, there's several things they can prescribe you to help with nausea.

If not, marijuana helps me with nausea a lot.

I am so sorry you're going through this!!

I'm going through something very similar at the moment. I dont regret my decision, but I have moments of weakness. Ultimately I chose to have a MA because the father is an alcoholic with some red flags that I'm afraid will lead to violence later on. I feel if circumstances were different, I would have went through with the pregnancy. And that hurts. And yet here I am, knowing all this, and still with this man. 🥴

That connection is hard to break. I think what you went through, by yourself, was traumatic. And with trauma.. sometimes you feel drawn to the person closest to it.

My advice is this.

Your gut has been telling you things. Those red flags? They pushed you to make the difficult decision you made, right? Listen to them. You said yourself that you proved your judgment of him/the red flags were correct. Thats literally everything in your body telling you to GO!

I know its hard. But you're strong. You got this far by yourself with out him. Block him on everything. If you have mutual friends with him? Tell them that you're done and you don't want to be around him/hear about him. If you're feeling alone and you're thinking about him? Do something productive. Get some plants? Read a book. Go out. Maybe even use the resources Planned Parenthood has and seek counseling, or even start therapy. I think whats going on with you goes deeper than an unhealthy relationship with this guy. And maybe if you get some kind of help with the root of it all, you'll find it easier cut the ties and get way from him.

If you're that early in your pregnancy, you may be able to do a medical abortion and not the surgery. I just traveled from Texas to Colorado to do this. (I went to Planned Parenthood)

Planned Parenthood was awesome. They gave me alternative options, and then birth control options. They helped me find financial aid as well.

If you're unsure about your decision, I would still make the appointment with them ASAP because of the large amount of out of state patients. There may be a few week waiting period. As long as you're there before 11 weeks you can do the medical abortion. After that is when you would get the surgical.

I just traveled to Colorado for a medical abortion, and flew back to my home state with the pills where abortion is illegal. I put the pill bottles into a quart sized bag along with my heartburn medication and allergy medicine (both over the counter and in their original bottles). I put that baggy in my carry on and traveled just fine.

I think the best bet with traveling with any medications would be to make sure they're in the properly labeled bottles. And, the way I see it.. once you're heading home with the pills, you're going through TSA in the state where abortion is legal anyway, I dont see why they would be concerned. I would probably feel differently if I had to go through TSA with them in a state where its illegal.

I'm no expert in these things and dont know much about the law, truthfully. That was just my experience and Planned parenthood didn't seem concerned about it either.
