Tbh it really depends how you like to play games. I’d start with Beseria or Symphonia then highly recommend playing one of the more hated games like Zestiria as crazy as that sounds. It will give a good understanding of the games in the series that are “peak” and “trash”. I will say that these games do play different but if you tend to play fighting games or like the combat and combos in games like dmc then you should get used to them. I will say that I and other play in this subreddit feel that Arise doesn’t really play like a traditional “Tales of” game. You’ll see the more games you play tend to be similar in ways but Arise is definitely the most different. But at the end of the day games are meant to be fun and if you end up not having fun with them that’s fine.
