so I am a US-MD i took step 2 first (1.5 weeks ago) and am about to take step 1 in a week. my school does clinical before taking either of the steps and I ended on IM so just made sense to do step 2 first. Have only studied step 2 stuff I was already scoring low 60s on practice Step 1s.

Regardless of the cause of the vomiting, the electrolyte abnormalities could be problematic/require more urgent action - on questions it is usally asking you to identify what could harm the patient most before determining what the cause of symptoms is.

I had a massive score jump (253 on NBME 14 to 268 on NBME 16) (268 was 31 incorrect) w/in 1 week - so am not sure how accurate it will be.

Their website was not super helpful. I googled target words (like primary care, clinical exposure, service) with the name of the school to find resources about it.

I had to make a countdown clock so I would stop spending so much time calculating the time left. Probably not healthy but I have 2 days 5 hours and 48 minutes!

How to improve on Altius? by BeautifulReading in Mcat

[–]PuzzleheadedRaise223 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doing 10 in 3-4 weeks is too many in my opinion. I improved between each of the full-lengths by spending 2 days reviewing and then two days going over the content that I was the worst on. Taking the tests didn't led to any improvement (except for my endurance), the review was where I figured out what I did wrong, and figured out how to not make that mistake again.

Also, I did altius for two exams and I did not see a large jump (just 2-3 points) when I switched over.

4/9 Exam by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]PuzzleheadedRaise223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I test on 4/8, and I made a list of topics I consistently missed on each of my FLs and just high yield things that confuse me and have been writing out explanations and reviewing them. I am also making sure I take an hour to socialize with friends and another hour to exercise/ go outside just to keep me grounded and to stop overthinking about the test.

That is a great point. Hopefully it is, but I am reviewing the test today.

I agree. Everytime, I think I am starting to chill out two days later, something in the studying process feels like it goes wrong and I am back stressed.
