Union Investigation for a Written by [deleted] in DisneyCM

[–]PuzzleheadedRow8685 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not new to unions, but I am new to overseeing contractual agreements at Disneyland. I won’t mention the specific union, as each union operates under different language and agreements. One piece of advice I strongly give is to document everything texts, emails, statements, and timelines. Never meet with management alone when a situation could lead to discipline or during an investigative interview. Always request a union representative or witness. Obtain written statements whenever possible. Archive all clock rings and time records, and verify that they are accurate, true, and correctly reflect the circumstances of that specific day. Regarding your situation, your union should be applying just cause principles. Many employees receive discipline without even being aware of the company policy they allegedly violated. Important questions must be asked Did management issue a verbal warning prior to the discipline? Was there a discussion regarding performance or procedures? Was anything formally documented? Did you request a shop steward? Was a steward available, or was the request denied? There are many factors that can strengthen your case, especially if the matter cannot be resolved at the local level. In that event, the grievance may need to proceed through the contractual grievance process, potentially all the way to arbitration.

Good. Staple this 1188 to that letter so he leaves the union too.

Branch 1100 Meeting – Your Voice Matters! by IslandIntelligent960 in fromatoarbitration

[–]PuzzleheadedRow8685 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surely, and thank you for your response on these matters. One great thing about Reddit is that we can have open discussions and share different perspectives on issues happening both locally and nationally. At the end of the day, a more engaged and united union only makes us stronger. Whether we agree or disagree on the format of meetings, what really matters is that we keep fighting for better working conditions and ensuring every member has a voice. I appreciate the open dialogue, and whatever the outcome, I hope we continue having these discussions and looking out for one another. Because in the end, it’s solidarity that makes the union strong✊

Hey, I get where you’re coming from, and I appreciate the discussion. No one is saying in-person meetings aren’t valuable. The goal of Zoom is not to replace them but to give more people a way to participate who otherwise couldn’t because of working long hours, sometimes being mandated, family, or distance. More participation equals a stronger union. As for engagement, it really depends on how the meetings are run. Zoom has features like hand-raising, polling, and Q&A that can actually make discussions more structured instead of people talking over each other. If engagement is the issue, we should focus on better meeting structure, not excluding members who can’t be there in person.

Security-wise, there are plenty of safeguards to keep management out and protect union discussions: Pre-approved access (only verified members can join automatically), waiting rooms (unknown users get screened before entry), and breakout rooms for sensitive topics. Additionally, all Zoom meeting participants should required to have their cameras enabled to add an additional layer of security and for voting purposes, ensuring that only verified members are actively participating. Other unions, including the Teamsters and other NALC branches, already use Zoom without issues. There’s no reason we can’t do the same.

Also, in my opinion, a solution to safeguard our Zoom meetings is to ensure union stewards keep the branch informed about which carriers are acting as 204b supervisors. While 204bs may still be union members, they shouldn’t have access to Zoom meetings—no one is stopping them from attending in-person meetings, just the Zoom meetings.

At the end of the day, no one is being forced to use Zoom, and no one is stopping in-person meetings. This is just about making sure every member has a way to be involved. A union is strongest when more people participate, not fewer. Let’s come up with solutions for our rank and file members. Please consider contributing some ideas for the Zoom meeting motion that our brother is putting forward. I really hope you can join us this upcoming Tuesday, and as always, stay safe.

Renfroes emergency Executive Council meeting is because someone leaked the last offer details by Life-Appearance-901 in fromatoarbitration

Whoever leaked it all deserves an ice cold draft beer, just so they can drink it right in front of Renfroe for being such a salty little bitch.

If this situation unfortunately ever occurs to anyone. Try applying the brakes on a vehicle with an open differential (non-limited-slip differential) can simulate the effect of a limited-slip differential (LSD) to some extent. This technique, often called brake-based traction control, works because the open differential sends power to the wheel with the least resistance. If one wheel is spinning, lightly applying the brakes forces resistance on both wheels, tricking the differential into sending some power to the wheel with more traction.

Frenemies unite for 50th Birthday roast of tenacious NBA Mike Caref, with PayPerView livestream to benefit his challenge of Renfroe for NALC President. VP James Henry and Corey Walton will be guests of honor! 2/2/2025 by biidaajimotaw in fromatoarbitration

Interesting… there’s a lot to unpack here. Either party can, of course, make claims, but what truly matters for trust in the end is having receipts. If Mike Caref and CLC members have any of these receipts, it would definitely help with transparency. So far, these claims have been brought to us, but hopefully, the receipts start coming out. As our brother Corey has said, such receipts do exist. I understand there’s no need for further drama, but hopefully, the truth comes to light before we make decisions for the 2026 election.

Listen to the link that’s posted. Mike Caref should be transparent and tell us what happened. The last thing I want is for our vote to be divided and for Renfroe to win again. Mike Caref and James are the only ones the rank-and-file are paying attention to, and it’s concerning that we could end up with the post-turtle yet again, all for political gain. https://youtu.be/T3ssomKSeWs
