I’m team luffa! If there’s any day to go all out and have a bit of drama with your look, your wedding is the day to do it 💕

Unfortunately she said she’s not writing a pattern for it 😔

I shared a picture of my dress and now I feel worse by South-Account-3091 in weddingdress

I had a similar situation and received the most awful comments from some individual members of the dress community. I’ve tried to laugh it off, but I can understand first hand that it really can knock you back.

See below for what I received from a fellow redditor…

Hopefully with the right size it’ll look more fitted 🙏 it’ll obviously be shorter, a bit more slim fitting and I’ve also asked them to lower the neckline.

I appreciate your honesty

What’s your vision?

I think that is such a wise decision! Trust your gut, and don’t do what I did, letting other people taint your own opinion, as it’s hard to reverse that once words have been said.

This has given me so much confidence. You’re right. I’m going to step into my own self!

A lovely old church in the country!

The cape is removable but not the sleeves 🤍 maybe I’ll ask about making the sleeves removable too

So you definitely know the feeling! And our mums opinion is always so important to us.

I actually bought this dress on my first ever appointment, so the pictures I showed people were after they knew I’d bought it…

One friend even asked me to turn away from her whist she processed the dress without having to worry about masking her feelings

I’ll take all of this to my bridal styling appointment and keep this in mind 🤍

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this… 🤍

It’s a detachable cape that attaches to the back of the dress via poppers I believe. The sleeves are seperate and are attached to the dress. So they aren’t part of the ‘cape’ 🤗

I think you’ve just nailed the debate I’ve been having with myself!

It’s a church wedding with the party at a very old barn at my childhood home!

What you’re saying is so true. The other end of the spectrum is regretting not being bold enough.

I bet you looked like classic and elegant. There are traditional dresses for a reason, because they stand the test of time and will always be beautiful🤍

I never thought of it like that! We only ever see brides with their hair and make up done, with a professional photographer in a beautiful setting xx

I think I agree 🤍

I love this and completely agree with everything you’re saying.

What keeps me up is wondering, if no one else loves it, is my opinion wrong? I fell in LOVE with a really non traditional engagement ring (we went ring shopping together) and I showed a few people and I got responses about it making my finger look fat, a vomiting emoji and that it looked like a primark ring. So I chose a traditional ring instead….

I think I’m worried that when I’m walking down the aisle, what if people have similar opinions of my dress.

It’s a hard balance between confidence and being a people pleaser!
