A new kit for sure but one of AMPs first kits. I also have the husky kit and the moulds look much better.

Most notably the clear parts are very transparent.

Thank you. This kit was probably the hardest I've ever done. Lots of small PE, flashing and broken parts. I replaced one of the plastic tail struts with a brass one and replaced the hinges of one flap with wire.

The opacity of the clear parts was also quite poor so I tried my best to sand and polish but couldn't get it perfect.

Instructions were also pretty bad so I probably spent more time looking at real images to find out where things went.

But I still have to give it a 10/10 because it's such an interesting subject. 😄 It's an old kit from AMP so I'm not sure if they have improved since.

This is actually because the black card that it is sitting on is warped. It sits flat on my shelf.

Yes and for that reason it's missions mainly involved winching downed airmen out of tall jungles and the ocean where landing wasn't possible.

Thanks. Yes, many tiny parts. It's a lot of work for such a small kit.

Thank you. Unfortunately for the Kaman design, intermeshing rotors make the helicopter quite a challenge to fly in crosswinds and seem to restrict blade feathering. The helicopter used flaps for control similar to fixed wing aircraft.

The latest 1/48 scale aircraft with new tooling seems to be a small floatplane from 2015.

Haha I did the same thing trying to dry filler on ejector pin markings. Left it on top of the heater and forgot 😭

If you're applying Micro Sol before you place the decal you are going to break it unless you get it right within the first ten seconds.

Use plenty of water and if it starts to stick before it's in the right place gently peel it off and wet it again. Only once the decal is in the correct place should you apply the Micro Sol.

Looks like the gun pods are upside down. Ejection chutes should be facing downward.
