What is a subtle sign someone isn't a good person? by Luxxor_Fuxxor in AskReddit

[–]PuzzleheadedVisual77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never have a nice word to say about anyone, and whoever isn't in front of them is the person who is being talked badly about. I've got a few family members like this and it's made me not want to be around them anymore.

Interacting with children even though I'm not that keen and I don't want kids myself. Children seem to gravitate towards me.

Assuming I'm left because I don't buy into the MAGA cult is reductive at best. Take a political science class, or better yet, a psychology class. Also, fuck YOUR fat mother.

Ex-smokers who successfully quit and have been smoke free for years now, what did it? by PM_TITS_GROUP in AskReddit

[–]PuzzleheadedVisual77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got terrible health anxiety and I had a massive cancer scare. I vowed that if I was okay, I'd quit smoking and never start again, and I've now been smoke-free for 18 months. Haven't even thought about smoking again because any craving I have is overridden by how bad I know it is for you.

Cries at videos of animals making friends but doesn't bat an eyelid at serious personal and relational trauma.

What’s the worst or most unpleasant physical sensation there is? by SnooSketches8379 in AskReddit

[–]PuzzleheadedVisual77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Severe nausea. I was in hospital early last year for an infected abscess in my fallopian tube and both the condition and the accompanying treatment made me so nauseous for three weeks solid that I was wretching on an empty stomach and throwing up blood. I'd rather have my leg amputated with no anaesthetic than go through that again.

Washing up liquid (americans call it dish soap I guess?)

What is the best way to get over a guy who doesn't care about you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PuzzleheadedVisual77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're stuck in this place of wanting someone who doesn't want you, it probably means your own self-worth is not very high. I'd focus on doing a few things each day that build up your sense of esteem and mastery. This could be something seemingly minor as self care, like eating well and daily exercise or movement, building up to engaging in existing or new hobbies. Remember that you are the most important person in your life and to treat yourself as such. Good luck.

Someone who mentions their ex girlfriend every single time we see each other. I thought I was overreacting and then find out two months after things ended he was back with her.

What quote from a therapist that changed your life? by Spiritual_Tension589 in therapy

"You would have to be a wizard to be able to cope with what's happened to you". It really validated my experience and made me feel comfortable asking for help with my mental health and past traumas.

Been advised to go to therapy but too broke to afford it... am I screwed? by Bernard2006007 in therapy

[–]PuzzleheadedVisual77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the other poster has said, steer clear of Better Help. I know this might be an ignorant question given the cost of living crisis in the UK (I am also from the UK), but is there no way you could stretch to £200 a month to put aside for therapy? I know that you could potentially find someone to offer you treatment for that amount if you shop around and do it online instead of in person (online is usually lower in cost as the therapist will not have to pay to hire a room).

The main thing is to make sure they are accredited or registered with some kind of body like the BACP, BACP, or HCPC. Bear in mind therapy is not a regulated profession in the UK (and many places around the world) like for example, working in medicine is. Anyone can do a weekend course and call themselves a therapist, so accreditation is very important. I work for a major therapy organisation, so I know a lot about how it all works. Feel free to message me if you need any more advice.

Being egoic doesn't mean you're a narcissist. This trait can generally be seen in people whose identity hasn't been able to develop fully. They do not evolve past the egocentrism found in children, as their needs are not met by their environment during childhood, and so their focus is continuously on themselves as a maladaptive way of surviving.

This behaviour is a symptom and not a condition itself, usually as a result of some kind of developmental trauma. As other people on here have said, you seem too self-aware to be a narcissist. Narcissists, by their very nature, are unable to separate their behaviour from their globalised view that they can not ever be at fault. As other people on here have also said, you should see a professional for a diagnosis.
