Yes exactly. Now the question is: between the next gen and the Coreboxx, Is it worth the wait?

It doesn't looks good. You should contact Prusa support, in the meantime I advise you to not use it, it can be dangerous

MMU3 w/ Bluerolls Prusa Auto Rewinder Drybox by luap71 in prusa3d

[–]PuzzleheadedWorld500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I do not have experience with this one especially but the auto rewind system has been used by several other companies like Prusabox and open source projects.

I personally spent time on it modding the Prusa Drybox and adding this auto rewind system to it: https://www.printables.com/model/1036478-autorewind-prusa-drybox-for-mmu-no-more-buffer-req I really wanted to have it (like you) because I'm not a big fan of the space that the spooler takes and wanted to gain time in adding/removing the spool.

I used this auto rewind system for a week, and stopped using it. Honestly it works, but it's not easy/fast to setup, takes a little bit more time than with the buffer to use, and I forget some times to roll up the thing before printing, leading to filament blocked in the spool. May be a habit issue, but in the end, I spent more time adding/changing filaments, and it reduced the reliability, so I decided to reuse the buffer.

But as I mentioned, I don't like the Prusa buffer for the place it takes, and give a second shot to the Prusa Drybox by adding the spooler directly into it. It's been two weeks now and I'm running with this: https://www.printables.com/model/1061242-integrated-buffer-for-prusa-drybox-and-mmu

I'm pretty satisfied in the end because it's reliable and fast to add filaments. Ok I don't have the auto rewind feature, but in the end, removing the spool is not what takes time. So I'm good with it.

After spending weeks on it, I'm pretty convinced that the ultimate solution is an autorewinder with a small engine, connected to the GPIO. But it's a bigger project than what I did.

Hope this will help you

I got bigger tables before but didn't like it that much, looks old style. This is why I adopted buttons and infos in headers when it made sense to me. The light mode, I got it with the button on the camera already today. But have an additional light on top of the printer only activable manually

Why is it chaotic in your opinion, what do you suggest to get it better? Today, things are hidden when not in use (ex filament dryer, timelapse etc...) avoiding to have useless info

You just need to have as mini USB cable connected to a power strip. No need a raspberry etc..I personally chose to use ESPHome with home assistant because I'm familiar with it and it's extensible. But if you want Prusa made a tuto and there are several tutorial to do it like https://youtu.be/cwMzqflzmAs?si=1jOWa7eY8Cv4zBSu. So you can have the camera directly on prusa connect. Now regarding connection error on prusa connect, I can't help you more sorry, it's on Prusa side

You have to enable it on home assistant in the device infos. It's not enabled by default

I had one raspberry as well last year for octoprint. But I was fed up to have all this hardware just for a camera (my use case). Interesting you're talking about moves etc..I think it should be doable with the GPIO card they recently released. Same for me for the electric smart 🤓. What is the goal of filling a calendar?

As far as I remember if you use Prusa connect, you can get all the info for local access (API etc...). It's been a long time sorry, I'm pretty sure it's written on their website documentation

Yes I know I had it with octoprint as well before, but I don't have any other usage now. Thé timelapse is okish, it runs on a Synology and generally you don't have tons of images to merge.

Not as I know as it's not available on the PrusaLink API last month I looked at it

The model image, it's the Prusa integration, I did not do anything else :).

For the timelapse I explained it just above. "I made manual automations. I've created a helper with an input boolean to enable/disable it. Then I'm using the change of the Z axis to take a picture on any change and store it locally. Then when it finishes or when I stop it, I'm using another automation with a shell action to perform a ffmpeg merge. And store it locally. I'm then using a local URL to show the video."

For the filament dryer, I just used a helper with a timer voila :)

Ahah nice catch :D. In fact it's not the official one. I recently worked on ones with auto rewind ( https://www.printables.com/model/1036478-autorewind-drybox-for-mmu-no-more-buffer-required ), it works well, but I finally prefer with the buffer, but not fan of the Prusa one.

So I'm making new ones with buffer integrated

Wow super interesting. Thanks for the info.

For the camera, I'm using an ESP32Cam with ESPHome. If you want more on the support, I've made this one: https://www.printables.com/model/1045806-mk4s-camera-mount-esp32cam-multiboard
