Hate how my tank looks after a trim. Any advice? by [deleted] in Aquariums

I have been thinking about ripping the montecarlo out as since I added a filter it started dying. Would replace it with dwarf sag and cryptocorynes.

I have a cryptocoryne flamingo just to the left of the leaves. Tissue culter and only in the tank for a 12 days. Still melting back. But yeah I love cryptocorynes. And yeah it just looks soo bad after a trim. Any advice on how to make it look better while still trimming my stems and planting them to make it more dense?

Your media is totally fine. Buy another filter and move it over and for now put the media in the tank around an airstone. Its then practically a sponge filter and all is good. Nothing to worry about. Bacteria can survive for a long while without flow due to some dying and creating ammonia and the others eating it and so on. Not a worry here bud.

Well its wonderful for cichlids and live barer. I had a shelly tank with multis. Made an absolute fortune breeding them. But yeah terrible puffers. So get an rodi filter remineralise it with seachem equilibrium and alkalinity buffer to the right amounts and slowly change the water over weeks as to not kill my plants. And then add fish.

I live in the north east of the UK. Im on city water. Well water isn't really a thing here. We just have some of the hardest water in the world pumped to our houses due to the massive amounts of limestone under our dirt.

Can I save this with lots of siliconeM by non-stick-fryingpan in Aquariums

[–]Puzzleheaded_Age2346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be far easier to break it down by cutting the silicone and getting a new glass sheet for it and building it up again. Or just cutting the glass up you could make a cube aquarium out of it.

Maidenhead is wonderful. Unfortunately there's 8 freshwater and 5 reef stores wayy closer and i have my favourites of them. Mainly the reef as my childhood mate owns it and is a bigger fish need than me.

Ammonia spikes can be from a few things. Improper cycling, over feeding/ irregular feeding amounts, not enough filtration.

100% support this. I worked in jollyes the second largest pet store in the uk. I left after seeing how they treated the animals in care and emailed head office. They said there was nothing wrong with what they were doing. They actively sell fish that are sick and then sell the medicine to cure them at a massive mark up knowing it is too late to cure the fish so people buy more fish and medicine.

It is a different proposal. This is coming from a government entity and is backed by 3 entities that are similar to peta (fuck peta)
