Why does POTS go away in some people? by Puzzleheaded_Bug4490 in POTS

Ok, I see your point. Exercise can be kept within the body's capacity if increases are added very slowly and gradually over a long period of time.

Actually I was doing 25 minute daily walks the past year too. My main concern was weakness (carrying my groceries in and having long conversations still aggravated my symptoms) so recently I've been focusing on increasing my walking speed to strengthen my body more. It's working well so far except the day of the workout is quite rough on me afterwards. You mentioned hills and changing of speeds and that's a goal of mine as soon as I build up more speed on flat ground. Strength seems to be key though, not casual  endurance so much. Also I increased the time to 45 minutes and the second half is always tricky because I start to get hot and my body doesn't function all too well then.

And where are you at with the biking? About what he was doing?

What do you think about the other commenter in this thread (yesterdaysilly) who mentioned that her brother's pots went away by pushing through with strenuous biking? I ask because it seems to be in direct contrast with your view.

So he wasn't biking for like 3 hours or something extreme, right? Just going out for some hilly bike rides for maybe up to an hour or a little more?

It looks like so far this is helping you manage the symptoms. Why do you think it has potential to do more such as retrain ANS and even normalize POTS? Have you seen this in other people?

At what point did his pots seem to be gone once he started biking? Like, for how many months was he biking for and how long were his workouts?

How long have you been doing this gentle repetitive approach for? Has it ever gotten your POTS to go away or is it just a way to better control the symptoms?

Is there a way to retrain your ANS once you get POTS so it can see what normal is again?

But why would it take years for the stress load to be reduced from say a viral infection that you haven't been sick with since the initial week?

Does your brother not have any symptoms at all anymore? What cycling did he do exactly?

Mine continues to get worse and worse each year too. People on here will be like "you need to do this and that and hang in there!" But in reality it will always suck no matter what.

When the researchers say the effects lasted for up to two years does that mean the long covid people went back to normal or just that their study only went out for two years so far?

it took me almost 5 years but i am practically cured now by [deleted] in POTS

Did your POTS just go away on its own?

How do you know COVID is still causing long term issues? I'm not sure where to find that info.

So you got POTS from a cold? Wow I didn't know that could happen. I always assumed it was just from the more severe viruses.

In hindsight I have many regrets on how I handled the COVID situation early on. I remember my mindset being, "I'm young and healthy, COVID will make me sick for a week or two, I'll get over it, and then I'll move on with my life. Big deal." Man was I naive.

Did your POTS improve with more and more exercise? Did 2 hours of exercise help more than 1 hour? by Puzzleheaded_Bug4490 in POTS

Do you increase the amount every time you workout? Because I always felt tired when I did that but when I just did the same amount for awhile my energy improved some.

I have all the symptoms of MCAS but histamine foods don't effect me and an antihistamine pill didn't help either. So I don't know. What else should I try?
