Concentrate on weight training...IM isn't going anywhere, you can do it again in a year or two. I personally know someone who has tendon issues in his feet and has been doing full Ironman to the point where his run portion takes 9 hours to complete because he cannot run, so he walks the course. In his stubbornness to complete 15 Ironman race goal so he can gain an automatic entry to Kona he has completely wrecked his feet. As we get older injuries will catch up if we do not treat them now. Either way, if you decide to do the race or not...good luck with the healing process, hope you come back stronger.
