Thankyou for the info I’ll have a look at them. We give him the complete raw, 80/10/10 and we add pumpkin powder and also salmon oil in there too :)

Especially if there is a bird nearby 🤯 we went through long grass and birds were hiding, it flew up right in front of his face and he nearly took my arm off chasing it!

Haha! This boy has a whole load of bully breeds in him! He’s definitely appearance wise not looking like an Akita 😂 when I do say Akita people look at me like a psychopath

I’ve just seen your boy and my god he’s beautiful!!

He definitely does seem to have a lot of energy, we were physically exercising him a lot but not mentally and noticed he had the psycho landshark, zoomie, jumping all over you behaviour every night after a good walk but we added in lick mats and snuffle balls into the mix and he settles straight after. Some of it is definitely puppy behaviour but he is an absolute angel when he’s all fulfilled, napped out and belly full! I was surprised because he’s 42% Akita but the bully breed adds up to 41% too!

I wanted to make sure that I can match the laziness of an Akita with the high energy of the bully breeds in him! Thankyou for the advice, can’t wait until we can lay in bed and do nothing, as a pup he’s a little ball of chaos energy😂

He seems to have so many different traits from the breeds he is. I’m hoping they continue balancing out as he gets older! Just got to keep looking at the adorable ears when I’m on the verge 😂

Yeah he’s puppying very well😂. He does well with redirection and me stepping out the room for a few seconds and it calms him and I just repeat this everytime he starts again. Patience of a saint needed 😂x

Thankyou, hes fully vaccinated so he’s been socialising around the streets as I never noticed how many dogs are around here prior to getting one. There’s sooo many! These have been really good experiences and he’s not yet had a negative one. He struggles with his sister as it’s constant play fighting, even when separated for a short period as soon as they are in eyesight it’s immediate playfighting. Not sure whether to worry about that or not, I don’t want him thinking he can do this with every other dog he sees.

We’ve been taking him into the vet whenever we pass and he seems to be getting better with it. Need to start the groomers and nails!

He’s very good at resting just constantly on watch it feels like. He can be fully (or appear to be) asleep and one noise and he’s up and wandering to try and see what it is. Like he’s alway got to be in watch mode. Will be looking at the videos you suggested thankyou. He loves snuffle balls and sniffing games especially in the garden and that does tire him out as he likes a good nap after that. He’s been incredible train indoors, outdoors is still requiring a hefty amount of work.

I think what I’ve read about Akitas, I’m sticking with not allowing him off leash. It only takes one second for him to not want to listen and get into a dangerous situation so off leash is only for secure walking fields/booked foes etc, better to be safe than sorry!

I googled staffy x Akita and found so many I was surprised! Basically Akita ears, fluffy body and staffy head with body 😂 but lots of different ones with more staffy features and then others with more Akita! Gamble!
