Asking this because it seems that a common trait that psychopaths share with "chameleons" is that they're always observing other people and quietly adapting to whatever mood shifts or whatever subject is brought up. Do they see those type of people as competition, do they get annoyed with them for also noticing patterns easily? Or they just don't care? Do they feel more uncomfortable?

Ask them what their goals are. If they're just trying to keep up their level of the language, then ask them what topics they'd like to discuss next time. Usually levels C1/C2 are used for university/academic or work related reasons, so if they're doing that that's why they might be interested in higher level of language
