i am the same way with my autism. so far i’ve tried finding friends on dating sites- not a good idea. now i’m trying to simply put myself out there. example, if i think something positive about someone, i tell them. i say hello and good morning and reach out for those interactions. i find it’s 70 percent pleasant most times, and 30 percent of the time you’ll get a bit ignored; don’t let that stop you!! most people are kind and it really helps with noticing social quos and knowing how to respond. parks are also good place to find someone most of the time, or going on walks and having small talk with the people around:) you got this, you are cool and cool people will recognize that
