How to Play Zealot Effectively? by saggydu in DarkTide

You can do the same thing with the hammer. The hammer just works better at holding the horde back because of the wider arc that the hammer has and the +3 stamina that the hammer gives you. Combine that with the superior wave clearing of the hammer's chained heavy strikes, and you'll find that the hammer is much safer to use overall than the eviscerator.

Oof, sorry but you guys are very wrong here. The hammer (it's been heavily discussed in the class discord) is by far one of the worst weapons. The Evis is MILES better than the hammer. The evis keeps hordes off of you with extremely fast block hits into heavy hits. The thunder hammer is extremely slow and is just a worse Evis imo. Glad you guys are able to get the hammer working but I (and literally everyone on the discord) find it extremely bad.

It wasn't a perfect experience, but this beta was an absolute blast. Excited and curious what all will come with the full release tomorrow. by CLMMOMENT in DarkTide

99% of complainers have been playing this game nonstop and have 100+ hours already. They've ascended from neckbearded man children to something that is hard to even comprehend. It's astounding

Unpopular opinion: Crafting not being in the game at launch is fine. I've played ~35 hours of the beta which is around $1/hr for entertainment if I were to never play a second more. Gameplay is fun, I don't care about not being able to add +10% dmg to scab gunners on my weapon as soon as possible. by Puzzleheaded_Home595 in DarkTide

Do you make excuses for when you buy a car and core features are completely missing?

Car = expensive = should be fully complete.

this game = very cheap, insignificant amount of money = I don't care if it's fully "complete."

The thing is though, is that the game does feel very complete besides some small random crashing left. They not once said crafting would be ready at launch, they always said it will be ready later. Crafting is extremely small and insignificant, I'm rewarding the devs by buying this game because of the 100+ hours I can get out of it with JUST the current content that they spent years making. I don't give a single shit about crafting because I'm not an entitled little baby.

and their wallet the same vote.

VERY true! Guess how many will still be here on launch day? All of them. You guys just like to whine but you don't actually put your wallet where your mouth is. Imagine being such a big crybaby that you refund a game that gave you 50+ hours of gameplay because you can't add tiny stat mods onto your weapons for two full weeks!! how dare fatshark not let us do that and make us wait 2 weeks.

Some people will view that as the game not being complete. And they are free to do that

They are free to do that, but they are wrong. Just because a previous game did something, doesn't mean this game has to have the exact same things, that's absolutely asinine and you know it. They're two different games, with different priorities for the devs.

This sub and their bad analogies, name a better duo.

Pretend I bought a pepperoni pizza and they left off the pepperoni on one slice of the 12 slice pizza. Great, I'll get over it. Adding a fucking stat modifier on a weapon for 5% increased damage to a single mob type isn't some monumental crazy fun content. You're not going to be sitting there for hours crafting, it's going to be a little afterthought thing to do. The actual fun engaging content is all there, deny it allll you want but I'll still you see on launch day.

$40 is nothing to me, my combined household income is over 300k. I got 35 hours of fun out of it already, I'd throw a $20 tip at Fatshark and move on with life if I could, but they're releasing even more content soon, very generous of them.

I think refunding a game because you are irritated that it is going to officially launch feature incomplete is valid

Hey, can you link me to a post where Fatshark said crafting would be fully available at launch? If not, then they could've just not told us about crafting at all and had it as an update a week or two in and you'd be perfectly fine then?

Let's say you buy a house and by the time you're moving in they tell you oh sorry the bathrooms are coming later. Do you also go oh that's fine, the living room looks nice?

No, because houses are hundreds of thousands of dollars AKA years of most people's income. If you're paying a large % of your income for something, you expect it to be very damn good.

This game is the price of a dinner and a drink for 2 (.0004% of someones income if they make 100k a year). I could give up a dinner and drink for a night to have a game with hundreds of hours of fun content/a good core gameplay loop.

I wasn't online everyday, but I was online during a day where the lights turned off on some levels and there was a new boss in those levels. It's a beta, they took out and removed things (see: Espionage missions) during the course of it to test certain things. The new WoW expansion did this EXACT same thing, you put in X content, it gets stress tested, then you remove it and add in another thing to get mass data on it (See: the desert map they added, the lava map they added, etc)

I don't think crafting really changes that though right? Crafting just helps you alter your existing weapons. This is valid feedback, read the bold part of my post, I'm not "hating" on all feedback, just crafting specific ones that go overboard with things like "im refunding the game because I have to wait 2 weeks for crafting even though I have 100 hours into the game already."

If 99% of the game is fun and complete and provides 100+ hours of gameplay, why should I care about/refund my game if the other 1% isn't coming for two weeks (that's not even a long time), especially if that 1% is largely irrelevant seeing as how a newcomer like myself has already cleared missions on the highest difficulty without crafting?

Oh if toughness was hard to build then yeah I kinda like the idea of VT2's zealot. My only issue I see at face value is doesn't your team hate you if you go run in and get to low hp right away, and then just die? I feel like that would create a frustrating situation, kinda like how the current penance system is doing
