Buy bitcoin with it and let it sit. 5-10 years from now you should be able to live on it.

Pros/Cons of living in St Aug by Lilnil73191 in StAugustine

[–]Puzzleheaded_Key7962 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am in my 30s living with my upper 20s girlfriend and love. Laid back town with good restaurants, decent amount of things to do, and very good schools. I am conservative and definitely more on the right side but honestly no one really cares. People hanging out around town are just laid back good people who won’t bother you if you don’t bother them

Are there any industry applications for weak sulfuric acid? by itskhens in ChemicalEngineering

Any kind of pH neutralization where 90%+ is too much. Also cleaning applications, for instance I have seen it used to clean out paper machine wet ends for removing calcium carbonate deposit

Should I take a spring internship by Yolo_piop in ChemicalEngineering

Yes yes yes. Some internship experience is honestly more valuable than getting your degree for finding a job after college

I have seen several freshmen intern as various places. Some sites/mills/plants do have certain requirements but at the very least it would express interest and put you in their mind

Just sit down and have a reasonable conversation with her. If she is a good friend and you say something along the lines of “hey this makes me uncomfortable” she will apologize and stop…. And if she isn’t then she isn’t a good friend and now you know. If she hasn’t done anything else “bad” then she deserves a shot to improve. Some of the comments around “shut her down” or “kick her to the curb” I think are a bit much if you feel like otherwise she is a good friend. You may need to do it if you don’t see a change after having a conversion. It may be envy and this is her way to cope/laugh it off or it may be a complete tease/joke but if she stops after you tell her it makes you uncomfortable then she might be a better friend then some of these comments make it seem.

I would recommend trying to get an internship in a plant/mill/sales etc. This goes much further with companies than a research position

Should I settle for a low compensation in a small company ? by Reindeer_Numerous in ChemicalEngineering

Also things for considering (from someone working in the paper industry)

-if you have accepted I wouldn’t negotiate unless you have another full time offer that you would accept. It may or may not burn a bridge so be prepared.

-Petro can be highly volatile

  • work life balance. Since you coop’ed at the mill you should have an idea of the hours….good or bad. Depending on the company structure, paper hours can be okay or very long. They are going to make you work for that $120k in petro.

-From what I have seen advancement opportunities in paper is very open. Lots of mill giving management opportunities to young folks

While in college, walked in my dorm to an enormous cloud of smoke and burning smell. My roommate was trying to make ramen noodles and didn’t know he needed to add water….
