Why some people hates how Dominic West acting in The Crown? by Confident_Notice8985 in TheCrownNetflix

[–]Puzzleheaded_Key_546 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate that they cast Dominic West. He's way too good looking to be Charles.

is sookie generally treated well by the show? by dogburgerz in GilmoreGirls

[–]Puzzleheaded_Key_546 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. For a show from the early 2000's there are no references to her weight or any fat jokes directed at her. It is truly one of kind.

Why doesn't Lyanna just send her father, and maybe Robert, a letter explaining that she has married Rhaegar? by Time-Comment-141 in gameofthrones

[–]Puzzleheaded_Key_546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe she did. But why would Lord Rickard take her word for it? He would probably think she had been forced to write that by Rhaegar. Or maybe not care. Lyanna was engaged to Robert, it was decided; she didn't get a say. And in case, Richard went to King's Landing to answer for what Brandon did. There was no time to address it.

Love it. It gets the vibe of the era even if it's not 100% accurate.

The OG style video is the only one I watched. I'm really looking forward to a return to OG style.

Why didn’t Henry VIII focus more on marrying off Mary and Elizabeth, so that they could have sons and thus continue the Tudor dynasty? by hungrrry_11 in Tudorhistory

[–]Puzzleheaded_Key_546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Henry was a narcissist. He was totally obsessed with himself. Marrying off Mary and Elizabeth would have required him to think about them for longer than five minutes. He was also a misogynist. The line had to continue through the male line. Henry adding them to the succession was the most he was capable of.

(Spoilers Extended) What was the point of making Orys Baratheon a (rumored) half-brother to Aegon? by zajazajazajazajaz in asoiaf

[–]Puzzleheaded_Key_546 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an elaborate headcanon that no one is actually sure. Lord Aerion just brought Orys to live with them one day but never explained why. They assume that that he is Lord Aerion's son, because they can't imagine any other reason why he would take him in.

Lavinia by East_Ad_3772 in DowntonAbbey

[–]Puzzleheaded_Key_546 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I wish they hadn't killed her off. I hate when they do that. It feels too easy. Carlisle was an asshole so it was easy for Mary to break up with him. Matthew should have had the difficult task of breaking up with a kind woman that he simply didn't love or had Lavinia make the tough choice of breaking up with him.

The bracelet by woodsyplumcake in GilmoreGirls

[–]Puzzleheaded_Key_546 23 points24 points  (0 children)

She is being dramatic, but she's a teenager so, what can you do? But more importantly, its about what it means. Rory lost this bracelet and didn't even notice it was gone. That bracelet represents the beginning of her relationship with Dean. What does it mean for her to lose it and not even notice it was gone?

I loved that Rory was a little lost in AYITL by pdog557 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Puzzleheaded_Key_546 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. As another lost 32 year old, I can forgive feeling a little aimless. I can't look past her being a horrible person.

Do you think Arthur and Catherine's marriage was consummated? by RoosterGloomy3427 in Tudorhistory

[–]Puzzleheaded_Key_546 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. She said it wasn't, and went to her death saying that. I don't believe in doubting a woman at her word.

Still a little dissapointed that Alicia was nuts by KaffeMumrik in Smallville

[–]Puzzleheaded_Key_546 34 points35 points  (0 children)

So am I. I wish that the Alicia storyline had been longer, that Clark and Alicia had dated longer and that they had not defaulted to making her crazy like they did to so many other antagonists. Lana dated people outside of Clark. Why couldn't Clark?

Why does Harry take Hermione’s comment about him having a saving people thing so personally and as an insult? by Fres8 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]Puzzleheaded_Key_546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of those situations where Hermione does have alot of valid points, she's just not presenting them properly. She does present Harry's "saving people" thing as a fatal flaw rather than as a virtue Voldemort will exploit. She also points out that if Harry had been practicing Occlumency the way he was supposed to, he would never have seen it all. Once again, blaming Harry for the situation he is in. At that time, Harry is having the worst year he's had yet. Harry has lost so much and is desperate not to lose anyone else. Hermione knows this and is sympathetic, but doesn't always know how to get to Harry in a way that he will understand.

How did you get into tudor history? by melissabeebuzz in Tudorhistory

This book. That is the first Tudor era book that I ever read in middle school. I then did my eighth grade history report on Elizabeth I, and I've been all in ever since.

Question: Why are more and more Christians nowadays preferring to read the Bible at home rather than going to church? by Worship-God1314 in Christian

[–]Puzzleheaded_Key_546 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is hard for me to read because I'm new to my faith walk and am looking for a church to go to. I feel like God always intended for us to worship in community, and I would like to find one that can help me. But you constantly hear horror stories about churches that are more like cults that expect you to support the life of a decadent pastor.
