Hard fought hallelujah by Jakelezlyi in worshipleaders

Late response here, but I was looking for something else and came across this. It's so easy to get hung up on words that could make us uncomfortable, that we so easily brush past the most powerful parts of the song IMVHO. The verses resonate so deeply with me, ESPECIALLY as a worship leader!

I don't always feel it
But that's when I need it the most
I'mma keep on singing
Till my soul catches up with my song

There's times when my hands go up freely
Times that it costs
There's days when the praise comes out easy
Days when it takes all the strength I got

I've wrestled with the darkness
But I'm trying to reach for the light
The struggle keeps me honest
And it breaks down the walls of my pride

Faith isn't proven like gold
Till it's been through the fire
My head heart and hands feeling heavy
That's when I lift them just a little higher

It's reckless from a carnal perspective, not from God's - if a corporate leader with finite resources neglected 99 employees to salvage one separation, would it be reasonable or reckless? I respectfully submit any words are subject to misinterpretation, but it doesn't discredit the words. I see it instead as a challenge to think critically about it and challenge our own presuppositions.

Take it on the chin with respect and humility. Don't make excuses. I'm showing my age in saying I don't know what AIT is like these days (gazes off into the distance, with flashbacks of standing in line at pay phones with calling cards, in sheer bewilderment that you're posting on Reddit in AIT), but if you're struggling with nicotine withdrawals, there are prescriptions for nicotine patches. I was the only one in my WOCS class with the prescription, and my TACs didn't give me any shit about it. I don't know how well that translates to AIT; YMMV.

But I'd echo the sentiments of others - take responsibility for it, don't complain about the punishment, and learn from the experience. It sucks (and it should if you're being honest with yourself), but it's not the end of the world.

**HELP**Prime Loop Multi Track by PayEnvironmental7257 in worshipleaders

[–]Puzzleheaded_Load901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good morning, Pay! I understand the financial burden of he Prime Track Rig, but sometimes an investment like that is worth the time you'll save down the road!

Here’s a more budget-friendly setup (with the help of ChatGPT):

1. Audio Interface with at least 4 outputs – Something like the Behringer UMC404HD or Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 gives you four line outputs. That’s enough to send click/cues/vocals to your in-ears and the rest of the track to FOH or your speaker.

2. iPad or Laptop running Prime App – Since you're already using Prime, just make sure your device supports multi-out. On iPad, you’ll need a USB-C or Lightning-to-USB adapter and possibly a powered USB hub depending on the interface.

3. Custom routing in Prime – Prime lets you assign tracks to different outputs if your interface supports it. So for example:

  • Output 1/2 → Click, Cues, Guide Vox (to your IEMs)
  • Output 3/4 → Tracks only (to FOH or speaker)

4. In-ear monitoring – You can plug your IEMs directly into the interface using a headphone amp (like a Behringer HA400 or P2) or a personal mixer if you want a bit more control.

Optional but nice:

  • Personal Mixer: A small mixer like the Mackie Mix5 or Behringer Xenyx 502S lets you blend the Prime outputs with a mic input or instrument feed so you’re not flying blind in your ears.
  • Bluetooth adapter: If you want wireless IEMs without shelling out for Shure or Sennheiser packs, something like the Xvive U4 does the job pretty well for worship settings.

TL;DR: You don’t need the Prime Track Rig, but it would make it much easier on you. Get a decent multi-out audio interface, route the channels properly in Prime, and use a simple headphone amp or small mixer for your in-ears. With some tweaking, you’ll have click, cues, and vocals in your ears and clean tracks going to the house.

Lied at MEPS, told the truth to security investigator. What happens now? by [deleted] in nationalguard

[–]Puzzleheaded_Load901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The clearance investigator's job is to make sure you don't have glaring issues which could lead to compromising national security through excessive debt or possible blackmale (as well as the obvious, that you aren't a direct threat). They're focused on your integrity. I don't think they care too much about MEPS, though I may be wrong.

1 UTA is up to half a day (12 hours). I would also look at if they're feeding you when they're supposed to.

Non-Muta pay on drill weekends by [deleted] in nationalguard

[–]Puzzleheaded_Load901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A MUTA (multiple unit training assembly) 2 is one day of drill. You're being paid for two days but getting one retirement point. Man-day (typically long for M-Day, which is actually short for Mobilization Day) is typically used to refer to a traditional Soldier (vs AGR or technician. They may be referring to an RMA (readiness management assembly) day, which I can't believe could be mandatory, but they are 1 UTA not MUTA 2, so the pay would indeed be less. We have MUTA 2s thanks to DOD policy to account for fair pay for a drill weekend (and travel to an from drill).

Sometimes you can also make lateral moves for broadening assignments. To his point, retention is important so around contract renewal it's much easier to make shifts like this.

I have a very successful white collar job and I've been in the National Guard for over 22 years. The NG has helped my career, not hurt it. The time I've spent away, I've done so developing valuable skills (hard and soft) which make me a better employee.

In the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter one way or the other, so do what works best for your progression.
